Did you ban John Hemming (the MP) for outing me ?

CarpeVinum · 21/12/2013 23:47

Cos he isn't on The Thread.

And I'd like to know why.

I am immaginging that the party whip we've been phoning, emailing and twittering has tied him up and run off with his keyboard.

Can I hang on to that fantasy, or did you ban him ?

It's not the end of the world to me that he posted my twitter account, knowing it was me and knowing it was my real name. But I will quickly drum up some minding if required to purge MN of his presence.

[arf] at that bbc link - "He wants a new law to make it an offence to threaten whistleblowers to stop them reporting wrongdoing." - No shit, Sherlock Hmm

The intimidation is quite horrible when it's directed at you so personally. And when it comes to adoptive parents, who have previously been bearing the brunt of this type of thread, it is quite scary to think that someone might out you and make your children identifiable. It could be very dangerous in that situation.

DH, we all agree that the entire system is underfunded and under strain. It's just randomly linking to unrelated cases with no actual facts (or only DM type facts) is sort of where we started. So we are all a tad cranky or at least I am, sorry

dhisaconspiracytheorist · 23/12/2013 23:53

I think I'm being misunderstood! JH does not have a fan club in our office.

MadameDefarge · 23/12/2013 23:57

DH, its just we are all a bit raw now about this.

Your support is very very welcome.

Spero · 24/12/2013 00:00

Sorry if I misunderstood your position.

But it might help if you ever end up posting on threads with JH again - if there are any more and I can quite understand why lots of people really, really hope there won't be - that you make it clear you aren't marching under his banner. Because that has tendency to cloud the debate.

WestmorlandSausage · 24/12/2013 00:00

ok Dh - we've perhaps got you wrong. But your previous postings have seemed to be more on the JH line of reasoning but perhaps have misunderstood.

Was I right with any of the above professions? There's not a lot of non statutory jobs left in LAs now....

confuddledDOTcom · 24/12/2013 01:34

I don't think it's been said on this thread but there is a group on Facebook where we are trying to work on a practical solution (trying to keep details scarce for now). If you are interested you should be able to find the group on "MN Friends" let me know who you are though as it's a closed group and I don't want to let the wrong people in Xmas Wink

CarpeVinum · 24/12/2013 01:39

The intimidation is quite horrible when it's directed at you so personally. And when it comes to adoptive parents, who have previously been bearing the brunt of this type of thread, it is quite scary to think that someone might out you and make your children identifiable. It could be very dangerous in that situation.

I read what he wrote to you, about keeping your head down, or your adoptions might be questioned.

That's why my "twang" of "is he trying to intimidate me?" is valid I think. I can only immagine what it feels like if the percieved intimidation is as subtle as a sledgehammer and involves your children.

I don't think a MN ban, temp or otherwise is anything like enough of an outcome from this. Any whiff of power possibly going to somebody head and the only solution is to whip it back off them again. Becuase the people who enjoy it to the extent they bandy it where it has no place being waggled...are the last who should have the merest sniff of it.

BitOfFunWithSanta · 24/12/2013 02:57

Totally agree.

CarpeVinum · 24/12/2013 08:46

I have a tentative proposal, to be considered post xmas. If we stick to solely back uppable facts regarding specific actions that took place here... would mumsnettowers consider retweeting our tweets ?

I think working towards a "higher standard of political conduct" to ensure we don't bequeath a HotStickyMess as our generstions' political legacy for the next generstion or two, fits with the demographic and values of mumsnet.

I'll just leave that there as something to maybe get mulled over once we all get back from panic buying presents cos we forgot the 24th is our wedding anniversary and enjoying (or not) xmas with our nearest and dearest (or not so much).

Maybe after boxing day fruits of earlier labour will swell and become ripe... in which case never mind.

Anyway. If I do not survive the xmas squish in Milan. It was a massive, stonking pleasure and ... don't let the bastards wear you down !!

I knew there were lots of smart, brave and determined MNers. Just never expected to be posting in such close quarters. I've been punching well above my wieght and before I bugger off just want to say .... you lot kick arse. And if I voted in Britian, I would deffo vote for any of you, any day of thg week.

Zombie you are very gracious. Xmas Smile

My iPad when I click the link takes me to the top of the thread, is it an iPad thing ? Does it work on a laptop ?

OP posts:
IamtheZombie · 24/12/2013 14:53

Yes, Carpe, it does work on a laptop. When Zombie clicks the link, it takes her to the bookmark. But, just in case, here's a C&P of your post:

Well, quite Zombie, but then he outed the names of three minors on the same thread too, so just can't help himself ?

It's not actually the end of the world to me that people here know my name. But he cannot possibly have known that when he posted.

"Conversation" with John Hemming is surreal.

He outed me becuase I have reported him to the court of judge Munby for breech of a court order prohiniting the naming in public spaces of a baby girl.

Plus I emailed screen shots to guardian in the first instance, cos I wasn't sure how to get hold of any authority fignures back in Britain the night it happened.

And I handed the screen shots to a Briton to pass on to the LA who are responsible for the baby.

Oh, and I sent sky news and all his political opponants and the libdem party whip a tweet of a screenshot of John telling us he was driving his mumsnet account under the influence.

Plus other tweeting I did.

Bascially I have spent a week trying to have him held to account for not exactly lawful behavoir that would shock me rigid if it was being done by a politico here is Italy. Let a lone a bloody British one.

CarpeVinum · 24/12/2013 15:05

Thank you Zombie if it works on a laptop then it is perfect.

Ta mucho! Thanks

I really think there should be a "flowers with tinsel" option at Christmas. I really really do.

as a point of interest it appears that the forced adoption discussion has been re-ignited on this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/adoptions/1947698-FORCED-ADOPTION?msgid=43861141

well welly well. Just when you thought everything would go quiet for christmas.

Spero · 24/12/2013 23:03

It's NEVER quiet in the Land of Forced Adoptions. These Daily Mail headlines won't write themselves you know.

CarpeVinum · 24/12/2013 23:07

Yeah, but how strapped for cash does a legal adivce service/org/whatever it is have to be to go trawling for new blood at 5 past Christmas.

Ohhhhh It's Christmas day in Italy.

I would pull a cracker with you. But can't get them here.

Merry Christmas! Not that I think this is going to be the restful one I've ever had.
