stratters Have you sent back your mug? I was considering buying one but if they are poor quality and over priced as it sounds like they are then I'll definitely not bother. Also are refunds available if you aren't happy? From what I read in one reply it sounded like you could exchange only? I'm very surprised HQ didn't comment on your post Stratters, you sound like an unhappy and disappointed customer and I'm surprised your post was ignored Hmm

And I agree with southerncomforts to some degree. I was very surprised when HQ said they were offering commission and how this would work in principle but it appears that issue is not be skirted round too.

I would like the ODFOD cup for work

Report
Jux · 14/12/2013 23:34

I would like a badge which says Fanjo.
And another which says Twunt.
In fact, I want badges which say ODFOD, TSSDNCOP, and all the rest....

I don't care of the cost, the ODFOD mug has never been more appropriate for my desk at work....

The quality of a tshirts is fruit of the loom type and FA football tops at the cheaper end and the organic ones are not much more where I can get them. It shouldn't matter how many different designs you have done either for the mugs as it's done on a one at a time basis. Obviously you have design time for each transfer but that is just one initial cost. You say ethically sourced, but is that really what people want for a high price?
I think you have paid over the odds.

The shirts aren't fruit of the loom type. Much thicker than that.

Really, the economics of this by the time you've printed each one, packed it and got it to you one piece don't make print on demand possible for less.

In the new year we're going to look at carrying a core range, based on what's ordered so far, which we can print up front and therefore offer for less. The less popular designs (and new designs) will be available via print on demand.

If anyone is unhappy with the quality of the mug then return it and you will get a full refund. Clothing can be exchanged if you've bought the wrong size or refunded if you're unhappy for any other reason.

We had a batch of mugs delivered to the office today and they look great. The slogan is printed under the glaze (IYKWIM) rather than on top of it in the way that promotional items are, and whilst they aren't the bone china mugs some will want, they've gone down really well here.

I'm a bit confused by the price of things too actually. I've just had three MN based mugs (with the "print your own design setting) printed by vistaprint for ÂŁ3.99 each. Back to ÂŁ7-something now. DP was a bit gutted as he'd gone onto the MN shop and bought me one for ÂŁ10 plus postage. They're really good.

I've also had tees (XKCD based) printed by them for under a tenner each and really good quality too. One I had done over two years ago was better quality than the cafe press one, cheaper and is still in good condition despite being worn frequently as a bed shirt.

We can do an ODFOD tea towel. They're a bit swamped trying to get all the Christmas orders out at present but we're going to look at a load of stuff (including tote bags) in the New Year.

Ok, I have received my Mumsnet Royal Tea mug and I have to say that I am rather disappointed.

I was ok with the price, but the quality is really not great. The wording is smudged - smears of colour rising from the letters - and the MN logo is so small that it is almost unrecognizable. It looks like a cheap ÂŁ4 from a car boot sale tbh.

I cba to send it back, but certainly wouldn't order anything else unless I was assured that the quality would be much improved.

Happy to send you a pic, Stuart, so that you can see what I mean.

That's not good. Not good enough at all.

I'm going to drop you a PM and we'll send you a replacement out, and you can do whatever you want with the original, there's no need to send it back.

Apologies - we'll get this sorted for you.

Morning everyone. Thought you'd like this pic of two of our office mugs being pressed into service the morning after the MNHQ Christmas party.

The one on the right is an early printing sample which has a little bit of the blue ink leak which MmeCinqAnneauxDor has on hers, but all the others are rather lovely.

Thanks, Stuart. Will email you.

That is exactly what mine looks like - maybe I got a sample mug then.

I don't mean to put people off buying them, and was really enthusiastic about the merchandising, but I do think you have to give your suppliers a smack with a cold wet fish.

Report
StuartMumsnet · 19/12/2013 11:31

Smack administered. It is a tiny proportion of overall orders, but not good enough either way.

A replacement is on the way to you.

Sorry to revive a zombie thread. But another MNer is looking for a MN mug - neither of us can find one anywhere. Any ideas MNHQ? Thank you!

It was me who wants one, the link at the start of the thread takes you to loads of unrelated things.
