mumsnet T-shirts?

Has this been suggested before? Do they already exist? If not,how about T-Shirts printed with the mumsnet logo? It would raise money for mumsnet and advertise the site at the same time.
I'd wear one, and I'd make my kids wear them too

BadHair · 01/05/2004 17:25

Ooh, Charliecat, Soapbox, Roisin and Tigermoth - see you all at AT! I'll be the greenish-hued one staggering from the Nemesis. And my kids will no doubt be the surly looking ones on the teacup rides.

tigermoth · 01/05/2004 19:09

wow, yes, thrilling is the word. Congrats everyone!

tigermoth · 01/05/2004 19:20

going back to original topic, I'd like something you can disguise very easily. I don't want a fellow mumsnetter accosting me if I am smacking my coca cola-drinking, tantruming child who's shouting choice swear words in the middle of Mcdonalds.....and occasionally I'll find myself in a group of other parents and pray none are mumsnetters.

So no to a T shirt or bag, but yes to something very small (like a teeny tiny tie pin) or something quickly concealable like a bracelet or a ring.

carla · 01/05/2004 19:24

I couldn't do tee shirt or badge, I'm afraid. Could do big nicks, but not sure how helpful that would be to Mumsnet.

charliecat · 03/05/2004 20:12

Just found this, yes see you all there, we could have a family mumsnet gathering! My 2 dont like rides...they REALLY are going to have to learn!

roisin · 03/05/2004 20:21

Yes, see you there Charliecat! ... I love rollercoasters, and have been studying growth charts this afternoon to work out how likely it is that ds1 will grow 4cm in the next few months so that he can go on EVERYTHING with me. (Nemesis, Air, Ripsaw and Oblivion) all have a 1.4m height limit on them.

charliecat · 03/05/2004 20:23

Im a bit of a wuss myself, I go on these things and see my life before me and swear I will never do that again, Im a mummy now and should be more responsible...do it again and again though!

Hi All,
So here's the plan...

  1. Small/ discreet badge/ pin - looking into mumsnet green/ gold enamel m (if not too like macdonalds) or mn. Carrie and esbee (many thanks) are busy sourcing these. This is for recognition purposes at meet ups and will be easily concealable for those who take one look and think better We'll order job lot so you'll damm well have to buy them or my house will be overrun with green ms

  2. A shop with cafepress selling load of goods with the slogan: Virtual Mother and then smaller underneath or on back: www.mumsnet.com
(thanks Marina - let us know whether you'd like pictory/ book)
and also selling small selection of child/ baby stuff with slogan:
My mum spends all day on mumsnet and all I got was this lousy vest/ t-shirt/ etc
(thanks CD - let us know pictory/book etc)

Will get our designer to come up with image/design (probably m or mn) soonest and get the ball rolling.
Thanks for all your great ideas, suggestions, goading - you are our inspiration

Grommit · 05/05/2004 17:20

Kayleigh · 05/05/2004 19:54

Excellent !!!!My two favourite pastimes in one - shopping & mumsnet. It doesn't get any better than this...

..unless there is going to be a mumsnet chocolate bar

Tissy · 05/05/2004 19:55

I'll have a badge , and a mug and a mousemat and a pen......

BearintheBigBlueHous · 05/05/2004 20:02

Is it too late to suggest Virtual Primary Care Giver? I'm kidding, honest I am. Not that I'm bitter that my design didn't make the cut or anything

Flip · 05/05/2004 20:26

Mousemat! Mousemat! I've worn mine out from using mumsnet.

SoupDragon · 05/05/2004 21:11

BITBBH, you're virtually a mother by being on Mumsnet. Of course, you may not want to wear a Tshirt broadcasting that fact...

Lisa78 · 05/05/2004 21:13

ooohhh, the excitement! Lets hope it makes mn a bit of money!

lou33 · 05/05/2004 21:28

Any chance of a mug?

BearintheBigBlueHous · 05/05/2004 22:15

I shan't be drawing attention to my less-defined-than-they-ought-to-be-cause-with-all-this-looking-after-babies-and-children-I'm-too-knackered-to-get-to-the-gym pecs by wearing one of the shirts, but I implore everyone else to do so and spread the word

kiwisbird · 05/05/2004 22:16

can you do a pair of generous fit pull on elastic waist logo trousers? Saying... this arse owes its magnitude to being sat on while its owner typed on mumsnet.. trust me there is enough room for this
This applies equally to breasticles, although in reality must blame baby for that...
