Hello.

Given the amount of, erm, interest the Asda Christmas ad has generated on Mumsnet in the past few days, we thought it would be interesting/fun to find out how you all feel about the .

Do tell!

I cry at the coca cola one too? Blush

Didn't cry at the snowman one though, just the memory of last year's ad.

Is it because Mrs Snowman has bad hair? Thats quite sad.

I was rather hoping that when he got back she would have melted.

Yes usual but you might like a hat if you had Mrs Snowman's bad hair. Wink

Report
Sparklingbrook · 09/11/2012 16:20

It would have been better if he got back and there was another Snowman in his place. With a couple of snowchildren. Shock

It's alright.

I quite like the Debenhams one with all the pretty lights. I want to wallop Myleene, why is she asking FC whether Mum gets a gift ?

But everyone knows that the REAL christmas advert is the Coca-Cola one. I get really excited when I first see that.

It left me cold.

Literally cold

Bit boring really, I preferred last years.

Report
WitchesTit · 09/11/2012 16:46

Nope. It makes me feel cold and anyway John Lewis is always so boiling inside that snowman wouldn't have lasted 3 seconds.

I don't know why I care. Our nearest JL is in Solihull and I don't like going there. Sad

The Daily Mail are saying this morning that it was filmed in New Zealand. In July. Confused

Jins · 10/11/2012 10:43

Don't like it.

Another classic song ruined for me Sad

Report
Jins · 10/11/2012 10:46

Not as bad as last year's 'head in a box' one though.

Hated that one.

However I have never shopped at JL and have only been in a handful of times so I'm not the person they are aiming the advert at.

Sparklingbrook · 10/11/2012 10:49

Me neither Jins, JL strikes me as a shop to look round then go and get it somewhere else. Probably cheaper.

God it's so bleak and miserable. Hardly fills you with glad tidings and joy.

I do like the snowpeople but the music is awful - depressing dirge.

I like my Christmas music to be jolly and bright not some asthmatically-compromised remake of a dreary old song.

Beautifully filmed and produced but, yes, a bit depressing for an advert (and I LOVE dark and deep stuff)

Sparkling, July is winter in NZ
