Hello.

Given the amount of, erm, interest the Asda Christmas ad has generated on Mumsnet in the past few days, we thought it would be interesting/fun to find out how you all feel about the .

Do tell!

like the ad itself, but

THE FUCKING MUSIC IS MAKING ME WANT TO STUFF MY EARS WITH SAUSAGE MEAT

naaaaaaaargh

Actually what I want for Christmas is

  1. World Peace

  1. Everyone to live in harmony

  1. NO MORE FUCKING ADS WITH FUCKING COVERS OF SONGS DONE IN A FUCKING TWEE MANNER BY A BREATHY MAN OR WOMAN FOR EVERMORE

thanks

I liked the one(Waitrose?) with the Highland Granny getting ready for Christmas and all the family getting there

also the music one, that was luffly

(apart from the weird brother and sister at the end)

Doesn´t do anything for me.

Mind you, the Asda one doesn´t really bother me either.

I don't really like it, as much as I wanted too because I love Christmas adverts.

Its just a bit sad and dreary for me. Lovely scenery though.

Last year's decapitated head one was better than this one IMO. They both have a very depressing dreary feel though. I would rather Russ Abbot came on and sang 'Atmosphere' and Bernie Clifton riding his ostrich and dancing. That's what John Lewis needs. Wink Bit of fun.

It's not very Christmassy. They also don't seem to realise that the UK doesn't have snow over Christmas Sad Tis sweet though.

and I've just spent far too long watching all the old JL Christmas adverts.

Tears? Tears? It's a snowman and snowwoman. It isn't based on a true story as far as I know. Grin Plus why didn't he fly?

Everyone stop blubbing immediately. Angry Grin

My boiler has broken so I am v v freezing and watching that has made me feel even more freezing.

However, I quite liked it. I would much rather a Christmas organised by JL Snowman than Asda mum. Calming rather than MAD.

I liked his little worried face when he was watching the snowball fight.

But I do agree with ^^. Enough of the drippy singing.

And yes. I do think next year JL should go all out with an Agadoo-sylee-Jive-Bunny bunfight of an ad.

Sparklingbrook · 09/11/2012 11:51

Thank you Merry. Yes Agadoo, Bernie Clifton, Russ Abbott and as huge tacky party of an ad next year please JL. Grin

Has anyone seen an Iceland Porn Ring ad yet? I suspect they will appear when the Jungle malarkey does on Sunday. Grin

I like that version of the song , and all the stages of his journey.
But, boring present and it didn't make me want to go shopping, actually can't think of anything that does.
Can't remember last week let alone last Christmas!
