Is it possible to put on tickers on the ttcing threads.

There are lots of us and would be fab to see at a glance where everyone is at thier different stages.

Many Thanks in advance xxxx

maddy sorry but I had to laugh at this thread, did you miss the huge bowel movement ticker episode a few months ago??
I dont specially want to see tickers becoming a regular feature of mumsnet, though I have every sympathy with people who are trying to conceive, and maybe tickers wouldnt be out of place on those threads, by request.

Janh · 30/08/2005 19:13

Once they were allowed on TTC threads everybody who likes them would be wanting them on pregnancy threads, and then it would be Behaviour & Development, and everywhere else too - "why not? TTC has them! I need to keep up with who has what!"

Hence all the thin end of the wedge comments. There are plenty of relevant forums (fora?) which do have them for those who want them - mumsnet is calm and peaceful (to look at anyway) and tickerless - please let's keep it that way [winning ]

STOP IT THE LOT OF YOU!

STOP.....We are supposed to be supporting each other not bickering!

If you don't support it have your say (not a speech) then move on back to the thread you came from! And chill out.

Roobie · 30/08/2005 20:41

errrr, I think everyone stopped it a long while ago peepee...

peepee · 30/08/2005 20:48

GOOD

Just making sure!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 31/08/2005 00:23

Wow

Just catching up.Did not know what a ticker was (not sure if I do now)

But I know this much.If somebody asked me my opinion then I would not be sarcastic or nasty in what can only be seen as a vain attempt to appear witty or clever.

And to say, and yes I will quote,"There's a special circle in hell for people who make that stuff up" is in the very least a very unpleasant thing to say.

Be nice to one another wherever you are and remember that there are some sensitive souls posting here.

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 00:42

ooo what fun and games - can't believe I missed it all - just my luck to find the good stuff when it's finished

snafu · 31/08/2005 07:36

Move back to the thread you came from?

tech · 31/08/2005 08:02

Hello maddyd,

We'll look into the practicality of putting tickers on the ttc threads. It might be tricky to embed them in the messages but we could probably set up a separate page to display a list of them. Then anyone who wants one could set one up.

Regards,
Tech

misdee · 31/08/2005 08:05

see, tech isnt aginst it

tech · 31/08/2005 08:17

misdee, you minx, persons trying to reignite dormant fights are frowned upon at the house of tech.

maddyd · 31/08/2005 08:31

Thankyou Tech but i think i may be outed if you did.

I love the site as it is and honestly it was just a thought. This ttcing buisness is heartbreaking especially when miscarriage is inviolved too. And yes i ma slightly obessive a=bout getting pg again, and im not ashamed of that!!!!

I was very upset yesterday, there was a lot of bitchy, sarcastic un called for comments but also alot of support for me and i thank all those that were there for me.

zippitippitoes · 31/08/2005 08:31

Sites which have tickers seem to be set up differently, so I think the software they use is designed to allow tickers as part of the core product...and I think they are an inhibiting factor in the intuitive understanding of how a site works across a number of threads...

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 09:22

sorry but I hate to say it - the bitchiness DID appear to start on one 'side' of the fence...(although then 'spawned' - onto the otherside).

It would have been a bit boring if the first 15 posters just posted

"no" - wouldn't it???

hunkermunker · 31/08/2005 09:34

Still don't see the problem with typing "cd24 of 15th cycle" or whatever after posts on ttc threads.

expatinscotland · 31/08/2005 09:35

I don't either, hunker. Think tickers just start a bad, bad trend.

maddyd · 31/08/2005 09:39

Hunker munker that sounds a good compramise.(sorry sp)

OP posts:
Lottielou · 31/08/2005 09:43

I have to agree with that too hunkermunker!

hunkermunker · 31/08/2005 09:57

I won't say anything about how I mentioned it far earlier on this thread already then

I wish the ladies on the ttc thread all the luck in the world - I've been there myself and know how hard it is xxxxxx

Lottielou · 31/08/2005 10:07

Thanks Hunkermunker - Much Appreciated

gingerbear · 31/08/2005 10:22

Rickman's next bowel movement is 9 months and a3 weeks away- awwhh

PS tis 10th post up from the bottom.
PPS I really don't like the look of the extra pics, tickers etc. Mumsnet is nice and clean and simple.
