Is it possible to put on tickers on the ttcing threads.

There are lots of us and would be fab to see at a glance where everyone is at thier different stages.

Many Thanks in advance xxxx

expatinscotland · 30/08/2005 15:50

They're the spawn of Satan, beetroot, right up there w/sappy poems and kiddie modelling agencies.

maddyd · 30/08/2005 15:53

Not wanting tickers doesn't mean we're not supportive of people who are ttc and who have had miscarriages. It just means we don't like tickers.

expatinscotland · 30/08/2005 15:54

I ttc'd for ages and suffered two losses. I still hate tickers.

hm I'm sure Tech are bright enough to make them only available on TTC - they made pictures only available on a few boards so there's no reason a techy brain couldn't make them TTC only.

BTW - been using a site the last few days that's brought in an "ignore user" option - PLEASE don't go there it's horrible.

Althohgh I DO like to see how many posts people have made - and IME it makes no different to the way that people respond to you.

compo · 30/08/2005 15:58

no one is attacking you maddyd - just tickers

munz · 30/08/2005 15:58

fwiw I think they're a good idea for the TTC only threads as then u can see at a glance where everyone is without sounding like numb nuts asking every day for their stats. - cos it's easy to forget these things. (don't have to be anything flashy and dancing about something simple would suffice.)

hunkermunker · 30/08/2005 15:58

TMP, are you who I think you are?

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 15:59

how do you know who I am - the site I've been using isn't baby related and I don't think I've seen you on there before??

SherlockLGJ · 30/08/2005 16:02

READ MY LIPS

No tickers..............................

But thank you for asking.

RTKangaMummy · 30/08/2005 16:03

Is there a SIMPLE version that could be used?????

That would not slow down the rest of the site

GOOD idea for TTC IMHO

I have been ttc for 16 months. I am fed up to the back teeth of it, pissed off, angry, bitter and sad about it but no tickers, they are awful IMO. I was only thinking how awful they are when I strayed onto fertility friend site the other day.

hunkermunker · 30/08/2005 16:05

No, I probably don't then...sorry!

sorry coddy

not meaning to shout

katierocket · 30/08/2005 16:07

I try to avoid a lot of the fertlity sites as I think a) it is very easy to become utterly obsessed (and I am enough of that already)
b) the tickers and pictures of angels and fairy dust and flashing winking emoticons etc made me feel ill so I quickly exited.

I know this site is for freedom of speech and we should all be able to say what we feel, but there is no need to be so bloody horrible.
We on the ttc after miscarriage thread have become really close, and are often asking where everyone is in each other cycles. what si so wrong about wanting a ticker. I'm sure maddyd wasn;t suggesting that they are for everyone, and it would be quite easy to allow us to type html into the "post" box and add one if we want to, but we have tried that and at present the "post" box does not allow it.

Really can't understand why comments like "the beginning of the end" and "do some maths and work it out" are being mentioned.
Surely someones suggestion, should not be ripped to shreds, purely commented on politely. Im sure maddyd now has been made to feel really stupid for even mentioning it, which is not what this site is about, we are here to support each other.
I think some people should think before they type.

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:10

I agree that some can be over the top but just a small ticker with your cd etc on surely isn't too much to ask, and does not have to be compulsary (sp?)

madmarchhare · 30/08/2005 16:11

I dont think anyone is being horrible. Theyre just having a bit of a lark about.
