maddyd · 30/08/2005 15:36

Is it possible to put on tickers on the ttcing threads.

There are lots of us and would be fab to see at a glance where everyone is at thier different stages.

Many Thanks in advance xxxx

I don't see the prob with tickers on TTC or pregnancy threads TBH.

Lottielou · 30/08/2005 16:25

I fully agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, in fact i more than agree with that! I am only upset cos Maddyd came back to our thread telling us about why she was upset! Diddle and I are supporting her and the idea, we dont want to cause grief with or at anyone!
But to have the idea squashed without any consideration as to why we think it's a great idea, i just think that is a bit much!

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 16:26

lighten up girls! People are having a laugh - have a look on some other threads - people are being complete nutters today

snafu · 30/08/2005 16:27

But Lottielou, the TTC threads aren't separate from the rest of MN. If one topic has them, every other topic should as well, and that's tooooo much, in the opinion of many...

expatinscotland · 30/08/2005 16:29

Americans LOVE to use tickers to brag about themselves/congratulate themselves. Something I find a lot of them to be very good at. That's a lot of the reason why tickers make me sick.

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:29

Its a lot harder to know someone is having a laugh when you don't regularly post with them, we don't know who's being funny and whos taking the piss at our expense. Easy for things to be misread. I'm sure you will all appreciate that we just sticking up for our mate.

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:30

i agree with you axpat, they can go totally overboard and we have been looking at some today, and the first thing i said was that they looked very americanised, and some totally over the top.

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 16:31

ok girls - just a warning - they're allowed to describe this thread (on their thread) as a "bitch fest" - but we're not allowed to post on there!

expatinscotland · 30/08/2005 16:32

Thanks for the word up, TMP. But like most American cats I've been front declawed. So I have to use my tongue as a whip .

hunkermunker · 30/08/2005 16:33

Well, I just did...

snafu · 30/08/2005 16:33

Aaaah, thread apartheid, love it

Lizzylou · 30/08/2005 16:33

Is there no way that only the TTC threads could have tickers...just basic ones? The people that seem to be opposing them the most have said that they don't venture on to those threads anyway, so surely everyone would then be happy????

katierocket · 30/08/2005 16:34

ahem - I have been TTC for 16 months and would be mortified at tickers.

katierocket · 30/08/2005 16:34

hunkermunker - "TTC threads are fluffy. That's their nature and should be so."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
you try for this long and you wouldn't be feeling bloody fluffy!

Lizzylou · 30/08/2005 16:35

Sorry KR, just trying to see if anyone could be appeased today!

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:35

hunkermunker, of course anyone is free to post on any thread, funny that our title is about ttc though, sure your message had nothing to do with that, how strange.
yet this thread is about the actualy subject, think you must be lost

hunkermunker · 30/08/2005 16:36

What I meant was they are full of hugs and support, babydust and babyglue, that kind of fluff.

I know from experience ttc is not fun. I was told I'd never have children when I was 22. Nothing fluffy about that either.

hunkermunker · 30/08/2005 16:37

Diddle, funny, lots of the recent posts on "your" ttc thread aren't about ttc, are they?

Shall I post re eggwhite cervical mucus on that thread now to make people feel better?

tamum · 30/08/2005 16:37

I agree about tickers looking awful, I'm afraid, and I bet it's right that the whole board software would have to be different for it to be possible.

katierocket, I really wanted to post on here to say I'm really sorry you're having such a hard time. I know that's of no possible help, just had to say it.
xx

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 16:38

and lets not forget that while people HERE were poo pooing the idea of tickers - they immidiately started an attack on the POSTERS "insenstive" "bitch fest" "don't understand" "out of order" "not worth it" "smart arse" "sarcastic" "don't come on here to discuss tickers" "bounty hunters"

!!! (who said they were 'fluffy' threads??? LOL)

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:38

yes please

madmarchhare · 30/08/2005 16:38

Exactly Diddle, this is a thread where anyone can post their opinions and many have but you didnt like it! WTF?

expatinscotland · 30/08/2005 16:39

Katie
I remember you from a ttc board. Wishing you the best, hon!

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 16:39

and diddle - threads on MN NEVER stay completely on topic (the TTC one didn't did it?? - you were talking about tickers before posting this thread!)

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:40

madmarchhare - i have no prob with people saying what they think, but was totally shocked by the way people reacted to a simple question and how they didn't consider the original posters feelings. Thats all.
