Is it possible to put on tickers on the ttcing threads.

There are lots of us and would be fab to see at a glance where everyone is at thier different stages.

Many Thanks in advance xxxx

Diddle IMHO they should be on the TTC threads

and will be helpful to those on them also it won't affect anyone else anyway {if they can be done so the site doesn't slow down}

Sure techy could do something he is deffo brill

snafu · 30/08/2005 16:13

If people want tickers they can go to sites that support them. I have a very relevant ticker on another site but no way do I want them on MN. The simplcity of MN is was sets it apart from other sites.

And I completely fail to see why having a miscarriage has got anything to do with it...

And it's totally possible for people who read this thread to also read the TTC one too...

cod - have pictures crept from for sale and member profiles onto other threads??

SlightlyTaintedSaintGeorge · 30/08/2005 16:15

I could be wrong, but I think the whole format of the talk board would have to be changed to allow stuff like tickers. In that case it would be difficult to confine to one topic only.

hunkermunker · 30/08/2005 16:15

If you're typing html into the post box, why not just write cd30 of 14th cycle? If you're posting a lot that day, why not copy it and paste it into the end of each post?

Have know feeling either way on tickers, don't know what they are, but agree with Diddle that a question should not be an excuse to rant at someone elses expense.

Glad I don't chat to some of you often or I might be made to feel like a right idiot, and I get enough of that in daily life.

Made me angry.

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:17

The fact that we have had miscarriages was to help point out the reason why we are so interested in each others cycles, not because we feel we are in any way different.

Thanks RTK, nice to know not everyone is against the idea.

Can't really see what the problem is. surely if mumsnet agree and you don't like them, then you just won't use them.

There are much more important things in life to get wound up about than this, you guys need to relax.

snafu · 30/08/2005 16:17

Maybe if we had tickers we'd all be nicer people?

2 mins, 30 seconds till cod next kicks off . . .

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 16:18

oooo are these all the TTC people coming onto here.......where's the TTC thread its being discussed on?

Reminds me of that hoo-haa about about something that was said on an Antenatal Club a while back and there was accsations of "you shouldn't be here" type stuff LOL

Lottielou · 30/08/2005 16:18

I really cant belive some of the posts on here. Maddyd and the rest of us girls from our TTC thread have been through a lot as i'm sure some of you have yourselves have on here. She asked a question which (btw i think is a great idea for the TTC ONLY threads) would really help some of us. We loose track on where we all are and as Diddle has put we have become rather close and a little helping hand on reminding eachother where we are at isn't much to ask for is it????
I agree with some posts of counting how many seconds PG you are, that is a bit OTT but for our threads it isn't? Please show Maddyd and the rest of us that have M/C a little more support on an idea which has had positive feedback from our thread.
Come on ladies, MN is about support not about opening a free for all stamp peoples idea down into the ground site.
Maddyd is really upset now, thanks!

toomanyposts - Is that saying that we shudn't be on here? The question is for our TTC thread!

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 16:20

no - I'm just saying that "everyone else" (ie those not TTC) are just as entitled to their opinion as you are.

There are some people who've posted against tickers who have also suffered miscarriages/are also TTC......

expatinscotland · 30/08/2005 16:21

I've had losses and been ttc and hate those bloody tickers!

Diddle · 30/08/2005 16:21

of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there are ways of saying things and totally putting someones idea down is not really very helpful.

hunkermunker · 30/08/2005 16:22

TTC threads are fluffy. That's their nature and should be so.

Asking for tickers on MN will always provoke a more sparky reaction. Nobody is having a go at maddyd for ttc, fgs!

toomanyposts · 30/08/2005 16:23

I think we've all had too much sun - it's barmy on here today LOL
