Knickers0nMaHead · 23/07/2009 12:50

i dont think its that bad actually.

nicolamumof3 · 23/07/2009 13:09

its ok but not a pram i'd go mad over. i think you could do better for £300 tbh. what are you requirements?

Knickers0nMaHead · 23/07/2009 13:19

Anyone please?

Knickers0nMaHead · 23/07/2009 13:21

ilovesprouts, we dont live far away from each other!

mamadiva · 23/07/2009 13:47

Hauck pushchairs go rickety very quickly and it says that the seat is reversible which it clearly is'nt.

snapple · 23/07/2009 14:11

Thanks for all the feedback thus far.

My requirements - well I wanted to get as much as I could in one go - I gathered that the price was reasonable for the all in package, but if people know of cheaper then by all means let me know.

My big requirement was for the baby to face me early on - which it should be able to do with carry cot and car seat if needed. My DH and are both tall and babys in my family tend to be long and on the bigger side, so I wanted a contraption that could grow with the baby.

My DH and I hire cars if we need them,
as we live pretty central in London and have good access to parks it will mainly be used for walks, as there is lots on our door step. House access is easy for a push chair.

I checked out a demo on YouTube only and I have also tried to check out as many review sites and have found mainly positive views. I have also spent a fair bit of time looking at different pushchairs.

mamadiva · 23/07/2009 14:49

Based on the fact that the baby may be long I would rule out a carrycot as these tend to last upto 6 months maximum for an average baby so you may find that a longer baby could be out of it by 3 months.

Is £300 your maximum budget? That should get you something easily

If I were you I'd get 2, one for in the car (occassional and one for walking and general day to day with the main one having a reversible seat.

Will have a look as can't think of anything off the top of my head.

snapple · 23/07/2009 14:52

Super - thanks Mamadiva

Knickers0nMaHead · 23/07/2009 14:55

What about an infinity?

ilovesprouts · 23/07/2009 14:57

komh ,

mustsleep · 23/07/2009 14:58

mamadiva have you thought about a bugaboo bee? I know they are a bit pricey but with my other 2 lo's I have probably spent the same swapping and changing and have had loads of pushchairs inc a bugaboo frog, gecko and cameleon this is my fave by far!!

If you can drive it will be even better as I find even though it's light it;s not really made for public transport

hhhmmmm thanks everyone I have had a zia before and you have reminded me they are a little unstable .....loved the Zapp but it does need to recline, although I suppose I won't be using it that often...

What does everyone think about the silvercross Fizz, Pop or Dazzle
I think that the Dazzle looks cool but a bit out of my price range for a second stroller

scattykatty · 23/07/2009 15:14

Zapp Zapp Zapp! Also I have just discovered a P&T Hammerhead...oh tis weird! Has anyone had one?

I cannot believe DS's Petit Bateau Raincoat hasn't come after He could be looking this cute right now Plus It's raining right now too! Oh well I guess he could wear out the identical one he has in navy....or his Kidorable dinosaur one I have raincoat issues...

snapple · 23/07/2009 17:24

thanks everyone, I don't really want to go over 300 pounds in budget, if I did it would have to have all dancing bells and whistles on. I will look up the suggestions.

reallywoundup · 23/07/2009 17:28

quick question to you ladies who know these things- should i attempt to wash a very muddy (Royal Welsh Show- twas like Glastonbury with cows ) maclaren xlr hood in a pillowcase in an 8kg washing machine- would it just eat it or clean it at least a little bit!

snapple · 23/07/2009 17:31

I'm not in the know - is there such a thing as a junkie for pushchairs?

Do I need to start budgeting for more than one pushchair?

nicolamumof3 · 23/07/2009 17:57

really woundup i have done a few mac hoods and they come up fine in machine as long as in pillowcase.

claret1980 · 23/07/2009 21:58

Snapple, you will def get the bug for buying pushchairs. One is just not enough!!!

Knickers0nMaHead · 24/07/2009 04:25

morning everyone. Ive got to wash the infinity covers today. Havent use it since our hols, just hoping the suncream hasnt stained it!

mamadiva · 24/07/2009 07:29

Morning everyone,

How are you all?

Knickers hope you get your covers clean I have no suggestions on that front.

Snapple I bought a big sturdy one for walking and then with my first family allowance bought a cheaper, small pushchair. Have you thought about buying 2nd hand poushchair from here or Ebay? They can be just as good if not better because it allows you to spread your money better. I wish I'd have done that s would have saved a fortune, but I was all PFB and had to have new and shiny

We don't have a car so when DS was born we put a bit of extra money into a combi car seat as it gets little use, but will last up until 4 so saved us a bit in the long run. We got the Britax 1st Class which has been good

My friend has gone for a Loola up in Choco/mint managed to get it for £180 as they ahve rebranded so bargain! Can't wait to see it as I think they are lush

mamadiva · 24/07/2009 07:50

Snapple if you fancy going 2nd hand -

Bebecar Vector £110 posted - This is a fab pushchair my friend has just had hers nicked and this price is very good. Folds with the seat/carrycot on or off it is quite heavy but is great if you do a lot of walking and has a reversible seat unit, may have a few scratches but you will hardly notice them! Also would'nt use the car seat as 2nd hand but good for a rocker for in the house or just for carrying

Urban Detour Quantum travel System £260 Posted- This is also meant to be a very good pushchair but have'nt used it. It's brand new in box and definately only for walking as is big but has a reversible seat and car seat included all you need is a footmuff and raincover for it.

Silvercross Linear Freeway - This is an absolutely gorgeous pram only downside is you have to take seat off to fold so again not one for the car but reversible seat and all accessories are included.

Sorry just having a look and came across these ones so thought I'd show you

FlyMeToDunoon · 24/07/2009 09:10

Morning all. Been pouring here.
Winnie pushchair sold so will be packing that off for collection Monday.
I am waiting for CarGirl to photograph her Citilite and I might get it for Grandma's.

pebbles79 · 24/07/2009 09:11

Well I've got a Bugaboo and it's staying! Was really hard listing the Infinity but it's done now and has 31 watchers . I took it out for one last time yesterday and it definitely made my mind up for me. Zoey doesn't like rear facing now and I much prefer how the Bee looks forward facing than how the Infinity does. Will still be hard - 18 months I've had it !!

Knickers0nMaHead · 24/07/2009 09:30

just incase anyone missed my question yesterday, does anyone know how to get paint off my ziko covers? Wont be washing infinity today. Its in my dads car and he has swine flu so told him to leave it there for now.
