I thought mine were over to dunoon but with us going out and about a lot this year in camper think I could do with something, and this is first year Ds been forward facing so guess I notice it more! I just don't know which one to go for. Def need one before summer hols approach!

maxybrown · 04/06/2009 22:30

does that cheap one actually work do you think?/ It just looks like a cat net!

horsemadgal · 04/06/2009 23:31

My son hates the Bugaboo sunshade as the sun still shines in his eyes. Didn't think they would fit on other buggies, they aren't very big.
I like Protect a Bub best which are much the same as that Ray-Shade.

nicolamumof3 · 05/06/2009 08:07

I just do cream and hats, which luka won't wear. good sunshade in nipper anyway with huge seat and hood just cream his legs up!!

maxybrown · 05/06/2009 09:04

Yeah but I'd need a LOT of cream!!! He sleeps for about 2 hours and sometimes we'll be out all day walking or whatever so 2 hours AT least is a long time in direct sun, I couldn't do it. Plus, even if I put long trousers on him, it's the heat too. he is the hottest baby in the world anyway! When he's awake, he's in and out of the Nipper so not always sat still for long periods as he likes to walk mainly(obviously he does he's not reached the achy legs age yet )

I have told him he is only allowed outside (his passion!) if he wears a hat when it is hot and he has so far settled for that.

BexieID · 05/06/2009 10:01

Our kettle has finally given up the ghost, no cuppa for me this morning .

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/06/2009 10:14

Saucepan?

BexieID · 05/06/2009 10:19

I s'pose, just can't be bothered as it takes ages to boil! Did think microwave, lol. Don't even have time to buy a new kettle today.

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/06/2009 10:27

Put one cupfull in and then it boils quickly.

Can you tell I have done this!

I now have a £4 something Sainsbury's kettle after various expensive ones gave up the ghost.

BexieID · 05/06/2009 10:35

Might do that tomorrow morning when i'm up at 5:30am for work. I'll just have juice for now.

This kettle was the cheapo Woolies one that has never worked properly since we bought it last August. Why we didn't bother taking it back then I don't know!

I like this one and this one.

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/06/2009 10:40

very sleek!
Mine looks like it cost £4 and it sits unhappily next to my lovely dualit toaster.

BexieID · 05/06/2009 10:41

Just reserved the Argos one and 3 bags of play sand we were going to get anyway tomorrow. I think it's the same as the one my parents have, but in a diferent colour, and it whistles when it boils, lol.

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/06/2009 10:44

You got a car for sand?
I carried one bag in the MB and it was heavy
It's all disappeared into the hoover or down the decking now.

NationalFlight · 05/06/2009 10:46

Flyme did you manage to find a maclaren yet?

Just managed to get a last years model at £159 from our local shop. it's ex display but has the old harness(yippee) and they're getting it sent over tomorrow

So excited.
I think I won't unpack the XLR when it comes!

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/06/2009 10:50

National I have a Jane Energy now and am content [for the moment ]

BexieID · 05/06/2009 10:50

Yeah, we've got a car and DP can carry it, lol. Failing that, i'll borrow an Asda trolley seeing as it's next door . Me and SIL carried 2 bags of soil between us, that was funny. Just before I found out I was pregnant as well. It was getting it up the stairs to the flat which was the worst!

I'm very lucky as I get to have the car all the time, although I do pay the insurance/tax. DP just pays for MOT/repairs. He'd rather get the train to Glasgow everyday than drive.

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/06/2009 10:52

that reminds me must empty hoover bag.

Right must prise myself off arse!

NationalFlight · 05/06/2009 11:07

Ooh Jane Energy lovely!! Tell me how you get on with it. Only thing I dislike about Mac is the tipping backwards, need one that doesn't do that ideally, but never mind!

nicolamumof3 · 05/06/2009 12:50

i've never had a mac tip? but then i've never been one for hanging bags on handles? so thats maybe why.

Maxy you def need sunshade if out in sun for that long, i try to keep them out of it tbh im not great in heat myself after having kids.

Glad you got your xt NF shame you got old harness tho as im desperately after a new style one!!

maxybrown · 05/06/2009 12:59

Yeah I know! Even though I don't normally bother - just do what you do, due to what we'll be doing etc I know i need to get something. Still not sure which one though

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/06/2009 13:01

I have never understood the tipping problem. Surely that only happens if you have bags on the handles and then take the child out of the pushchair.
Yes if you put something very heavy on the back it will so don't.
I usually put some shipping into the basket-and often the heavier things, and then other stuff in bags on the handles and have never had a problem with tipping with any pushchair I have owned.
Also it helps if the bags on the handles are slipped right down the handles toward the hood.
Never understood putting weights on either. Who wants to push more weight?

NationalFlight · 05/06/2009 13:11

Aagh sorry Nic, I will look out if I see a round buckle harness for sale anywhere tho x

Hmm yes I do put bags on the back, but I usually have a lot of shopping - it won't all fit in the basket!

This buggy is for in the car though, so shouldn't be using it for a big shop...I'll take the MB for that and walk.

Buggy weights don't make a lot of odds imo, it still tips! Probably work better if you sellotaped a brick to the footrest lol.

nicolamumof3 · 05/06/2009 13:31

no i don't get buggyweights either! who wants to push more weight. i only ever have whatever goes in a normal basket anyway, if its a big shop go with terry in car. but im normally to supermarket quite often with three hungry boys we always need shopping!

maxy, i just got that jojo shorty i bought from here cant remember who from, its far too small and quite bobbled so will have to drop into charity shop now.

maxybrown · 05/06/2009 13:37

oh what a shame. I have one in red/white and it is really roomy - I mean to the extent that it's bit big really! I think people over tumble dry sometimes! I know your DS is bigger than mine, but I bet if you ordered one from Jojo you would see the difference. Quality is fab.....I can't even imagine this one bobbling! Maybe I am careful, who knows!

Anyway....what about this....I seem to be going up in price but.....here

on protectabub website, says it is for joggers

nicolamumof3 · 05/06/2009 13:55

i know you win some you lose some! nevermind. that looks good to me maxy!
