Littlelamb have transferred rest of the money to your account.

Bexie I'm going to watch star trek maybe next week when we can get a babysitter. I'm really only going to drool over Zachary Quinto though!

Should have my Ziko Tuesday at latest and Vigour 4 later in the week. Still not told dh about ziko. His best mate tried to bet him that I would have another buggy by the end of the month and he said it wouldn't suprise him so said no bets.

hereidrawtheline · 16/05/2009 14:28

I've never ventured on to one of these threads before but you ladies seem to know your stuff.

DS is 2.9 and I have a Mamas & Papas Pliko 3 something or other bought the year he was born (2006). Well as a buggy I think I hate it. It is heavy. It doesnt steer very well. The wheels jam randomly (sometimes crossing a street! ) and did I say it is HEAVY. DS is a big boy, on the 80th and 90th centiles for height and weight, a really healthy 17 kilos I think but that is just trying to remember from the last time he was at the doctors and I dont understand kilos anyway.

I do need a buggy as he gets too tired walking long distances and his preschool is a 20 min walk each way plus I'd like the be able to catch a bus with him and my buggy is too bloody difficult to collapse and carry.

So... what do I buy? Dont want to make a huge investment as he is and will remain an only and his buggy days are numbered, but I do need something. What do you think I should get?

nicolamumof3 · 16/05/2009 14:39

hello here and welcome!! now im amazed you have been pushing a pliko that long!! i found it heavy with my then 10m old in last year, so got rid quickly. Macs are still quite heavy to push with a toddler in but fab for buses, not had one but everyone will recommend a BJCM as they are spacious seat for toddlers and supposed to be an amazing fold, not cheap tho unfortunately. air tyres makes any pushing of a toddler much easier, but not very bus friendly!

littlelamb · 16/05/2009 16:59

Thanks claret. I will try my best to get a courier for monday morning as ds has an appointment in the afternoon, but otherwise it wil be Tuesday at the latest. Will let you have tracking number as soon as it's booked

carrielou2007 · 16/05/2009 17:23

I'm fine, just tired and not looking forward to a week in a caravan trying to nice to dd's dad!!

How about the volo? So light and easy to push and you can fold it up and carry it over your shoulder with the strap. Pretty reasonalble price.

I loved the pliko when it was a prammtte but hated it as a pushchair. I hated the floating harness too.

FlyMeToDunoon · 16/05/2009 17:39

Have listed Zapp on ebay but don't know how to use library pics. Can someone explain it to me.
I used the automatic details for a quinny zapp but it said there was no image.

hereidrawtheline · 16/05/2009 17:53

would the mothercare pick n mix be horrendous?

hereidrawtheline · 16/05/2009 17:56

the volo and all the other stroller/buggies I see say up to 15 kilos and I am sure DS is 17. So what do I do??

maxybrown · 16/05/2009 18:07

hereidrawtheline - I have a Nipper which I DO take on the bus. I can't drive at all so am a dab hand at public transport.

It'll certainly be strong enough for your DS. Do you have to fold your pushchair up on the bus or can you get on it with it up?

I guess getting on buses with prams never phases me as I've never driven so getting on with a Nipper I think nothing of!

FlyMeToDunoon · 16/05/2009 18:24

Does my ebay listing look ok?

nicolamumof3 · 16/05/2009 18:57

dunoon, i would be v.tempted to list it as new. im sure it will be? and then put price a bit higher?

5inthebed · 16/05/2009 19:58

Hiya HIDTL . How are things going with your DS? Have you thought about speaking to your HV and getting a referal to wheelchair services, as you would get a Maclaren Major for free, and they are great for heavy bums and non walkers. Failing that, I have a baby jogger city mini (BJCM), and DS2 fits into it fine (he is the one with ASD). He can pull the hood right down and hides from people/noises/lights and might be a good thing for you to buy.

FlyMeToDunoon · 16/05/2009 20:43

NicolaI don't thinkI would feel comfortable listing as new until I actually saw it. Then if it does look new I will!

horsemadgal · 16/05/2009 20:45

hereidrawtheline, a baby Jogger City Mini for def. I can push my 5 year old in it easily.
The fold is fab for the buses.

nicolamumof3 · 16/05/2009 21:00

well lets hope it doesn't sell yet then dunoon!!

FlyMeToDunoon · 16/05/2009 21:04
Grin
hereidrawtheline · 16/05/2009 21:16

wow does anyone have these???

hereidrawtheline · 16/05/2009 21:27

oh my god I watched a video of the BJCM and I so want it!!! Where do you buy them though, I looked on ebay, they were all international. And how much are they? They look more than I wanted to spend.

Also what about that quinny for sale? They dont have shopping baskets though do they...

hereidrawtheline · 16/05/2009 21:29

Hi 5inthebed how are you? We are good! DS is still being evaluated but I am more and more wondering if he is NT. Just very confused to be honest!

5inthebed · 16/05/2009 22:04

HIDTL, I'm doing great thanks. We had moments of thinking DS2 was NT, but sadly isn't the case. Fingers crossed for your DS though.

The cheapest place to buy a BJCM online without calling the company is Boots. They have them for £175.

naomi83 · 16/05/2009 22:12

HereIdrawtheline, I'm in exactly the same boat with my pliko! DS is 2.3 and I need something that's easy to push and folds easily. Am looking into getting a baby jogger city classic or cite elite as they have air tires but fold easily and have a fab sun canopy (the main reason i'm still using my p3!) Meant to be big enough to take a large toddler with decent head room. Also it takes a bassinet or car seat for when next DC comes along. Not heard many first hand reveiws of it though. It's quite heavy so I would probably get a mac quest or triumph for the car.
