Hi - someone please help. I did post on here about a white bed in argos but my DH now says he does n't like it. I am after a white single bed (maybe shaker style) that does n't cost the earth and ideally which as underbed drawes with it or you can buy. I did find a bed at the weekend but the height menat there would be a 3 inch gap between the drawers and the bed - or does anyone think this is ok? We do not want to spend a a huge amount of money on this but it does n't have to be the cheapest either. Thanks very much

The three inch gap wouldn't bother me.

I found Aspace had a good range of white beds. They're not terrbly cheap, but might be worth a look. My DD has a bed from there and I think it is pretty good quality.

I'd check on Ebay - my friend bought her son a lovely new bed from there a while back - and you had the option of either drawers underneath or another pull-out bed (for sleepovers, at some point). I can't remember the name of the company, but the bed she got was a nice pine one, that was also available in white.

madrush · 23/02/2009 11:53

Maybenext can't see any with drawers, but we've bought baskets to go under beds not too hard to find right sizes

Stayingsunnygirl · 23/02/2009 11:54

I don't think this is the same company, but I did a quick search and found this amongst this list of white wooden beds.

I hope this helps.

Something like this here?

stressed2007 · 23/02/2009 11:55

Please can you ask your friend who it was on ebay as have already spent hours trawling through it and found nothing? Thanks very much

Hooray!!!!

differentID · 23/02/2009 12:06

how about this one?
it's a 2'6" though- are you after a 3 ft?

mishymoo · 23/02/2009 12:07

We have this Ikea bed for our DS. It's great - has 3 huge storage drawers underneath but also pulls out to a king-size bed. The mattress/es need to be bought separately though!

differentID · 23/02/2009 12:10

or this one?

superloopy · 23/02/2009 12:25

We bought this Ikea bed for DD.

stressed2007 · 23/02/2009 13:05

Needs to be 3 ft and not 2'6''. Next ones are nice too.

Any other suggestions?

Avoid Aspace like the plague!

Lovely catalogue - sweet kids, apirational lifestyle etc etc but the quality - dreadful. DD has one and never, ever again.

Geepers · 23/02/2009 13:20

www.kidsrooms.co.uk do some gorgeous beds for girls.

To follow mishymoo's post, that day bed is great, we have one. TONS of storage, sturdy, looks nice (has to live against a wall tho)

It even pulls out to be a double bed!

The only thing I would say is invest in the most expensive mattresses for it, NOT the cheap ones, they are quite thin and harsh.

Madsometimes · 23/02/2009 14:48

My dd has just got a John Lewis Broadway bed in white with a matching truckle underneath. We are very pleased with the quality (but with the mattress, truckle, and truckle mattress it was very expensive). I think you get what you pay for I'm afraid.

Stayingsunnygirl · 23/02/2009 16:14

I'm sorry Stressed - I asked my friend about the bed, but she can't remember. I hope you find something suitable.
