Vinted has killed off my Vinted habit

I've bought a lot of clothes through vented over the past year or two - it's been a godsend after my dress size changed and I had to replace a lot of my wardrobe. I've also sold off clothes that no longer fit me or suit me, but I've definitely spent more than I've earned.

And I admit I got a bit addicted to looking for bargains, clothes that I would never be able to afford brand new. If it didn't fit or didn't suit me I could just re-list it, or take it to my local charity shop. The heatwave came, there I was snapping up summer dresses that I could wear for work. And it's always fun getting parcels once or twice a week. But not any more.

My feed is now full of stuff from Australia. Even if I search for something specific, there will be Australian stuff come up. Nothing against Australian clothing - some of it certainly looks great - but I don't want stuff to be shipped to me from the other side of the world. Nor do I want to be shipping my old clothes that distance. There is no way of filtering out listings from overseas. Indeed Vinted seems to be actively bumping Australian listings judging by the proportion of prices ending in odd numbers in my feed. I can't even opt out sending stuff overseas.

I am now rarely logging onto the app, and am thinking of quitting it altogether. Anyone else feel the same way?

That was annoying too! Thank goodness for sellers who included the actual size in the listing.

I’ve pretty much quit too. Can’t be arsed with wading through all the shite labelled as very good and when it comes to selling, making a quid.

I don't think you can opt out. If you've discovered a way let me know. I think the only way is to cancel the sale.
I would rather take a cheap second hand top to the charity shop, than ship it to the other side of the world.

it used to be such a great site, but they somehow made the sizing even worse, the buyer protection fee means nothing (I had to pay postage to return something not even slightly as described) and I also bought a fake on there (Jellycat) but Vinted have let the seller carry on selling the same fakes. Any chat is just with annoying bots. It’s really gone downhill

I agree. US stuff too.
But although you can’t filter it out you can at least spot it by the odd prices which arise as a result from converting foreign currency into pounds.

The sizing is even more irritating to me.
It is impossible to search for a specific size which is just stupid.

Plus the customer service is non existent and the returns policy which makes the buyer pay return postage even if you supply photos showing the item is damaged or even the wrong item altogether is extremely unfair.

I stopped when they changed the sizing. I can't believe it hasn't had a massive impact on their sales, it's so much harder to find stuff that you just give up.

I genuinely haven’t come across anything being shipped from anywhere else but the UK. I was a bit fed up about the sizing changes but am used to it now, even though it’s a bit of a faff. The thing that pisses me off most is when someone lists something as ‘new without tags, then says in their description that it has been worn/used once or worn/used a handful of times. It’s not effing new then, is it? And also, some people and their crap, blurry photos😆

How difficult is it to actually list the size. I’m fed up of messaging for it.

Ah! The sizing. Is that why everything now comes up as eg 16/18? 8/10?
I only buy on vinted when I have found a rare top that suits my large busted small frame. I use it to find the same shirt in multiple colours. So I know exactly what size I need.

I also find it annoying when sellers have a picture of the item nearly folded. No other pictures I want to see what I'm buying. It must work though, but then I don't understand why people buy things they can't see.

Haven't noticed stuff for sale from Australia yet. There are plenty of American sellers though.

I was tripped up with this just recently. I put in a bid for a bag before I realised the seller was in Mohawk, New York! What surprised me was that Vinted are absorbing the export fees. The postage and charges were the same price as if it were sent from somewhere in the UK. It was a very cheap buy but with a much longer wait for me to finally receive it.

Vinted should make it clearer on the listing when the sellers are in another country. At the moment it is only apparent when you click on the seller's details.

I buy and sell on there. I find my items, reasonably priced, either sell within minutes or linger for months not selling. It’s not worth my time driving all the way to the post office (we are v rural) if I reduce the items further!
I agree with the international listings too. Surely it can’t be hard to add a location filter, like eBay.

I quit using it because I can't return something if it doesn't fit and not everything is so much of a bargain that I'm willing to gamble. Plus, I hated paying for shipping and it not fitting was insult to injury. Just don't see the allure of it anymore.

I’m in Europe so I constantly see stuff from France. No way to filter for items from your own country as far as I can tell. I just don’t want to pay postage from France, it usually pushes the cost of an item over what I would have paid for it new. Very annoying

I want to see pictures of shoes from every angle, the sides and the bottom. Posting 1 picture showing just the top of the shoes is pointless. And keep your feet out of them.

Dont say something is new when it's perfectly obvious it isn't.

Vinted should have a time limit of say 6 months and then a listing is removed to help keep down the mountain of stuff on the site. Have seen some recently that say 2 years and more.

I have very occasionally seen US listings but not yet any Australian ones. Nothing on my main feed is US or Australian and barely anything when I search. Perhaps it depends on what and how you search, or how your personalisation settings are set.

I will only buy things where the size on the label is shown clearly, ideally with measurements too. When I sell, I put as much info as possible on the listing. The thing that annoys me most is when people don’t state what material the item is made out of.
