Is Joanie clothing shutting down?

Just wondering if anyone had seen anything about Joanie closing down? The website is no longer accepting orders and comments have been disabled on their social media. Very odd!

I noticed it a couple of days ago :( nothing but a tiny banner on the top of the site saying it's not taking orders, very strange (edited for typo)

Same here. I hope it’s not going into bankruptcy. It’s my go-to brand!

Oh no! I love Joanie stuff

rockandscroll · 17/01/2026 14:45

Same 😭

WizardLizard86 · 17/01/2026 14:48

I do love them but the price has absolutely shot up the last year or two. They also spent a vast amount of money on collabs, which probably drove the prices up even more.

GoldenMirrors · 17/01/2026 14:50

I wear 90% Joanie. I buy my work dresses from there and recently spent £250 on 3 new dresses! I agree though the prices were so so expensive!

YellowPixie · 17/01/2026 14:55

It's very odd. they have limited commenting on their social media so nobody can ask what's happening.

Although it could be something as simple as moving to a new office or warehouse or something.

I know you didn't ask 🙃, but I also love some of sugarhill Brighton, some of it is quite Joanieish. I'm already having palpitations over where on earth I'm going to get my retro print fix from. And their Mary Janes.

Interestingly Sophie Ellis Bexter did a Freeman's collab when I'd have thought she'd really suit a Joanie tie-in 🤷🏼‍♀️

TidyDancer · 17/01/2026 15:12

Oh this makes me sad! I love their stuff. I really hope it’s a blip and they aren’t closing!

True. I only ever buy things in the sale now. The Christina Hendricks collab was beautiful but I wonder how much actually sold. I’m very unglam so mostly buy the oversized cardigans!

I can’t see any reason a company would do this, and in this way, unless going into administration.

Unless it’s a cyberattack or something like that?

TidyDancer · 17/01/2026 15:16

They’ve also limited comments on their Instagram.

Clefable · 17/01/2026 15:17

Oh no! I really like their stuff.

Ribenaberry12 · 17/01/2026 15:20

Oh, I really hope they’ve not gone bust. I love Joanie. I was disappointed with the Christina Hendricks colab though - I thought there were two many similar looking maxi dresses, not much variety and the prices were £££. But I LOVE their cardigans and dresses. Will be gutted if they go under.

Pumpkincatbow · 17/01/2026 15:26

I love their tops and jumpers but NEVER able to buy any as they only do crew neck, no v or scoop next which is much better on my huge norks

Catsandcwtches · 17/01/2026 15:36

What a shame, I’m wearing one of their skirts right now. I have two of the CH dresses, bought at 60% off prices. Both are very comfy but they probably would suit someone taller better. I had to get the midi rather than maxi ones

rockandscroll · 17/01/2026 15:52

Clinging on to the hope that it's a cyber/tech situation but 😭🌸🏵️

I just has a look at HMRC, might be in trouble...

Good sleuthing skills! Gutted it’s in trouble. I’ve been wearing their clothes for years.

Greyeyesgreenlight · 17/01/2026 16:35

Oh no, I hope not. I have an outstanding return with the refund not yet in my account.

SaltwaterSwimmer · 17/01/2026 16:42

Oh no, I hope not too… I’ve only just discovered their beautiful clothes!
I had an email from them this morning telling me that an item I’ve been waiting for is back in stock but now I can’t buy it ☹️

longtompot · 17/01/2026 16:43

Hopefully it'll just be a case of filing their tax returns and all will be ok again🤞

Amyrebecca123 · 18/01/2026 21:09

I've been wondering this for the last two weeks! I love their clothing but only ever buy it in the sale or from Vinted! I will be sad if it no longer exists for sure.
