Does anyone like the new Ocado app?
And if so, why?!
It seems very shouty & badly laid out (I'm on an iPhone 13, so it should be fine, I guess.)
Even worse, it's not offering Flash sales any more, have they stopped doing them?
What am I missing here??

No, don’t like it at all. I know it’s difficult to get used to something new, but I’m not seeing any improvement for me as a customer at all -
can’t see my open orders easily apart from the first upcoming one, lots of ‘sponsored’ food items listed, harder to navigate through offers and offers on favourites, harder to browse. At least that’s my first impressions!

Yeah, lots of items described as sponsored - unless legislation has changed to force retailers to show what's subsidised by the manufacturers? but we can work that one out ourselves (like any retail offer or positioning of any product in an eye-catching place in store etc). It'd be less intrusive if the sponsored info wasn't splashed on the front so prominently, maybe I'd consider looking at the product instead of automatically scrolling past like I do with other excess marketing & spam!

Why do we need to confirm our payment method at each check out? Just another unnecessary step imo.

Has anyone been offered any Flash sale items at checkout since "upgrading" their app?

One of my main reasons for using Ocado was the app; at this rate, I'm seriously considering moving away

I have downloaded the app and also noticed that the flash sales have disappeared. If they don't reinstate them I will be leaving too. Sounds petty but I got so much from flash sales will miss them a lot.

Does not seem an improvement to me.

Not petty at all!
It's not just the 40% (though they nearly lost me when they stealthed it down from 50%) but the range of new & interesting products that we try as a result of seeing them there.

I like the flash sales too, but now always check the reviews first. A lot of the time the reviews are pretty dreadful so I stay clear!

Mine too, DoNoTakeNo, I am considering cancelling my annual pass for other reasons, mainly quality and shelf life of fresh food in my deliveries.

Can you tell me if there is a new app? I’m using same one on an ipad and iphone which doesn’t appear to have been updated for a while

Ah, hadn't heard it was a trial.
I was just told to go to the App Store & update, I didn't see anything about the scale of the changes - it wasn't an optional update
Hopefully they will respond to my rather assertive email to say that they're not making it permanent 🤞

Hi customer services confirmed that flash sales will be coming back - but they don't know when. Could not even tell me if it would be days or weeks. So boring without them - had many delicious random things from flash sales.

My app hasn’t changed and I like it very much as it is. Ocado is far and away the easiest to use for refunds too. I’m a big fan.
I hate it when things are changed for no apparent benefit.

I use it on a desktop - it's showing the new site, but no Flash Sales, and the coupon page must be designed for tiny ants! You have to click on each little image to see what it is. The only positive to the new site so far is that unavailable items are added back to your purchase if they become available.

I've just added and I did get the opportunity to buy on flash sale at the end of my checkout I don't know if I like the app yet but at this moment it's not bothering me

Just been forced to use the new app. I HATE IT!
I think that the whole design is PANTS!
For the first time I am thinking of ditching Ocado.

I can’t stand it. I spent four minutes this morning trying to add yogurt. I wanted a big pot but there was no way to filter them. I tried putting them in order from highest to lowest but that didn’t work.

One click add is now three clicks.

Quite often the prices aren’t on the menu page as there is so much other bumf. I don’t want to know that cornflakes are ‘perfect for breakfast’ I just want to know how much they are.

I’m finding it so frustrating that I’ve done a big shopping at Morrisons for the last two weeks.

Im definitely not using them at all when my pass expires.

I’ve got the new app and had flash sales from first order however they are now 30% off not 40% - yes Ocado I noticed!
when they text me now, they don’t identify the delivery details - name of driver, type of van etc.
on the app it gives you a fairly precise estimated delivery time - say 18:13 but then it keeps changing.
previously it would tell you how many carrier bags were coming - I liked that as it helped me visualise how long it would take to unpack.
on the new app the receipt is finalised AFTER you have given any empty bags back and (I think) any returns so that is more streamlined.

Ve asked them if it’s a trial and it’s not, they are moving everyone over but not all at once. Apparently it’s ’a Learning curve for us all’
