Yesterday I entered the dark and mysterious world of PLAYMOBIL

dd1 was 4 yesterday and recieved a pony riding show ground box of wonderousness.

There are a lot of little bits though aren't there? And a small yellow minature screw driver that I am still unsure about.

I have a lasting memory of entering Chippy's ds's bedroom and the whole room was a giant playmobil diorama.

So I need tips.

Do you pack the kits away in special boxes or just let free mixing occur ?(I am a wee bit anal)

Are there any universal 'you must have this item' bits.

How long will this playmobil phase last? Will I be buying a lot more of this stuff?
There are an awful lot of little bits.

glad to be of service.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 08/04/2008 21:36

If there were, though, they would be exactly the right size to fit in their hands.

Slubberdegullion · 08/04/2008 21:38

lolol @ Kathy

Gawd mn is making me laugh atm.
yesterday it was WT and the oompah loompas and today it's you Kathy and the snugly fitting playmobil turds.

You do get cowpats with the cow set

Swedes - we have many Star Wars things for the younger boys to have at some point too, though it won't be long as DS2 decided to watch one of DS1's Star Wars vids this afternoon. DS1 also has huuuuuge amounts of lego, including various Star Wars tecnically stuff, oh and interactive Yoda came out a few weeks ago...but I out him back cos he doesn't shut up

Slubbs

Slubberdegullion · 08/04/2008 21:43

marvellous. playmobil cow pats. I can now die happy.

Not that I'm going to any time soon as I want to have a play with the blue marlin first.

Should you have issues with your loo, the playmobil plumber will come along with a plunger - and he is a damn site cheaper than the full-size equivalent

Slubberdegullion · 08/04/2008 21:49

but cod, there are nuns and blues brothers and tramps and storage lockers in cruisers (can't spell yaghts tonight) for the wine glasses.

I am completely hooked, and I've only got the poxy dressage kit to play with.

SoMuchToBits · 08/04/2008 21:51

We have the plumber, but we have lost part of his sink plunger (must phone Playmo parts service).

We have the builders' loo - Norman needs it frequently on account of all the tea he drinks.

The camper van also has lockers for the plates, food etc. And a loo. But no turds. However, the builders' portaloo has a loo-roll!

Slubberdegullion · 08/04/2008 21:53

Is there a playmobil tent

SoMuchToBits · 08/04/2008 21:53

I wouldn't worry about what happens when the buildings come apart - my ds recombines them to make other things. His "lifeboat station" is a combination of bits from two different fire stations (both purchased from eBay) and sometimes he adds bits of fire station to extend his airport.

TotalChaos · 08/04/2008 21:53

Noone has mentioned the ark .

The tent is in the direct services catalogue, which means you can send off for it. You need to pop into your nearest toyshop and get the current Playmobil catalogue

SoMuchToBits · 08/04/2008 21:55

Yes, there is a tent, in the direct service catalogue (you can order it from the Playmobil website www.playmobil.co.uk )

We are going to get that next, so Norman and co can go camping...

stealthsquiggle · 08/04/2008 21:57

How about this, Slubber?

I have the ark marked as DD's first "big girl" playmobil

Kathyis6incheshigh · 08/04/2008 21:58

Me too re the ark Stealthsquiggle.

There was a Viking tent, as well. And I think there is a Roman one.

Slubberdegullion · 08/04/2008 22:00

oh they have a liitle thermos, and a delightful pop up tent. They have a norty 4x4 though.

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 08/04/2008 22:01

Is there a current tent other than the flowery one, then?

I have just noticed the crusader and the archer in the current specials - a DS-free trip to our local independent toy shop (a Platinum Playmobil stockist ) is called for.

SoMuchToBits · 08/04/2008 22:02

tent

stealthsquiggle · 08/04/2008 22:02

At that price you could ditch the 4*4 and get them the Smart car instead

stealthsquiggle · 08/04/2008 22:03

Link didn't work, SoMuch - can you see a set number?

SoMuchToBits · 08/04/2008 22:03

oops - I found it on the website though - go to Products, then Accessories, and it's in the Leisure theme

SoMuchToBits · 08/04/2008 22:04

Set number is 7260
