<applauds wildly> i needed help with an Ikea chair <keeps clapping> and Serenity (who works there) offered to buy me one and post it to me! <wolf whistles> HOW COOL IS SHE? And how cool is MN? <jumps up and down>

seriously, this blooming kids' chair has been out of stock in Scotland for months, and i was looking for alternatives on here...

up pops the wonderful Serenity (who Will Not provide me with her address so that i can send a wee something of thank you) to offer to check stock availability where she works, she explains what the issue is and then IN HER OWN TIME goes back into work ON HER DAY OFF to get it, package it up and lug it to the Post Office.

that is freaking unbelievably kind of her, is it not?

aren't MNers amazing?!

AitchTwoOh · 05/02/2008 22:16

isn't it,though? although i can't help but think that it all relies on individual acts of genuine kindness.

Well done Serenity, you're lovely. Aitch banks with Egg (I fear she may be one of those who has her cards cancelled )

hunkermunker · 05/02/2008 22:34

I wonder if the pure, unbridled joy of going to Ikea wears off if you work there?

AitchTwoOh · 05/02/2008 22:40

lol, that did cross my mind... then i remembered i hardly use their stoopid card, i only got it for the internet banking. it's just the site that's down, i think.

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 05/02/2008 22:40

god, it wears off for me about five minutes after setting foot in there...

I love it.

I am Really Happy in Ikea.

I think it polarises people.

Like Marmite.

Or capital punishment.

AitchTwoOh · 05/02/2008 22:43

do you do the walking round thing upstairs? i spend my whole time looking for shortcuts.

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 05/02/2008 22:43

[pro-marmite] btw.

If DH is feeling amenable. Actually, he likes it too - one of few men I know who do.

The boys like "the machine" - the glass case with the drawer and cupboard door that open and close.

hunkermunker · 05/02/2008 22:45

[anti-marmite, btw]

Piffle · 05/02/2008 22:46

AitchTwoOh · 05/02/2008 22:48

pif, have you applauded serenity or do you think we are here to chat about shopping with our husbands?

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 05/02/2008 22:49

Piff, we could go to Ikea together.

As a foursome, maybe?

I'd love that

AitchTwoOh · 05/02/2008 22:50
