Nissan Qashqai

Rainbows2018 · 02/05/2021 20:39

We have just put a deposit down on a 17 plate Qashqai and now read some horror stories about them. Anyone got one?

We’re looking for a bigger car and it was between the Qashqai and the Tucson.

Have we made the right choice?

Yeh my husband had one when we first met and o thought it was like a old man's car. We ended up selling it and getting another car then selling that and getting another. My husband is so keen to go back to a qashqai and it was powerful and smooth. Did you go for the glass roof cause that is actually really nice.

unicornpower · 02/05/2021 20:43

I can only comment on my own obviously but I love mine, it has zero power but that's fine for me! It's always been reliable and nice to drive so I'm happy with mine Smile

Bobbiepin · 02/05/2021 20:49

I love mine, big enough without feeling huge. Loads of space inside. The only thing I would change is having a heated windscreen for the winter. My old fiesta had one and it was ace.

ChipsAndKetchup · 02/05/2021 20:51

Mine is brill. The reversing camera is amazing.

The heated windscreen. The ability to press the button on the door handle without getting my keys out to unlock is so handy. Such a brilliant car.

Oh god, me too! I think it is only Fords that have this as they patented it. I used to LOVE that!

We test drove a quashqui and it was gutless so went for a Hyundai

peoplearepeople · 02/05/2021 20:57

Love mine. I mainly bought it for the huge boot though so my dog would be comfy. Blush

Have the newer ones for a heated windscreen?? Mine hasn’t but that would be amazing!

Thanks so much everyone. This is so good to hear as we really love the car but the forums we have read tonight have really scared us.

We just need a bigger car really. I don’t mind about speed as it’s just for me really to get me and my girls from A-B without being too squashed.

@Horehound no it hasn’t got a glass roof but yes they’re really nice.

We found it too small.

BertieBotts · 02/05/2021 21:13

Quashqai is no good for fitting multiple car seats as the cabin space is quite small. So depending on the ages of your children this might be an issue.

Lavender17 · 02/05/2021 21:15

Love it! Great to drive, responsive, fast, quiet, comfortable, brilliant reversing camera, our favourite car ever.

Rainbows2018 · 02/05/2021 21:57

Well this is all a lot more positive than I was expecting 😀

idontlikealdi · 02/05/2021 22:15

Way too small for us when we looked - we had Dts in car seats at the time and all the junk they needed and then ddog in the boot. The boot was tiny in comparison to others. We ended up with a very funky but huge zafira.

trilbydoll · 02/05/2021 22:19

I've got a 2013 qashqai that I love and has never cost me much but the newer model has a tiny boot in comparison. Presumably you're happy with that though if you've bought one!

ouchmyfeet · 02/05/2021 22:20

Love mine. Had it for almost a decade and it's still going strong. It's not nippy but perfect for my needs

Whydidyouask · 02/05/2021 22:23

I bought one 2 months ago and I love it. It’s perfect for us - me, 2 boys plus 2 labradors. Plenty of room. Only had the chance to go on the motorway once and it was fine. It drives well and all the cameras making parking a doddle. I’ve had much posher, bigger 4x4’s but in my opinion, it’s just as good!

ChipsAndKetchup · 02/05/2021 22:34

@Howshouldibehave mine is a 2014 model but has a heated windscreen. It takes seconds to sort on an icy morning. It's fab 👍🏽

Excitedforxmas · 02/05/2021 22:38

Love mine- would have another one

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 02/05/2021 22:42

I have a 2020 model and it’s a great drive but now we have two kids it’s just not spacious enough at all.

Rainbows2018 · 02/05/2021 23:31

@SaveWaterDrinkGin how old are your children?

OP posts:
SaveWaterDrinkGin · 03/05/2021 01:07

@Rainbows2018 6 and newborn.

6 year old was 4 when we got the car and it was perfect. Now with two car seats plus all the crap you need to cart around for a baby it’s just not enough.

Rainbows2018 · 03/05/2021 06:54

@SaveWaterDrinkGin okay thanks. I’ll definitely look at the space inside then.

I love mine, it's the best car I've had for my needs. I like the fact that it feels like a bigger car, light to handles, and is just a really comfortable easy drive.

It's our second car though, and feels very full when we have 3 kids (17, 14, 11) and 2 dogs in the back!
