I want to treat myself to a really good new set of saucepans - any recommendations?

I have a motley collection of rather vile saucepans acquired over the years from various odd places, the nice ones we had for our wedding 12 years ago have pretty much had it

I would ideally like something with a stainless steel outside and non-stick inside. I don't want metal handles on the lids or metal handles as they both get hot! Must be dishwasherable

Anyone?

Puzzled as to why pot holders are more necessary for and Aga than for any other kind of oven. Surely the hot pot is the same.

MintyDixCharrington · 18/07/2007 22:21

(agas get much much hotter than other ovens, so you need a really GOOD potholder or you are toast)

eleusis · 18/07/2007 22:25

Ah, so the quality of the potholder is important. Gotchya.

MintyDixCharrington · 18/07/2007 22:31

yes sorry if I wasn't clear, I was too busy shagging CDs husband to think straight about potholders

Oh Kerry, you are new to CD's I can't make a basic decision without Mumsnet threads. She never gives the conclusion, like her bloomin' Sept holiday thread. Or the oct holiday thread. I guess November will be coming round soon.

Hey peahead can I still call you peahead? are you coming to the Christmas booze up?

No disrepsect CD, for it is an important choice, but 136 blardy posts about saucepans?!

Do they need to be ovenable?

StarryStarryNight · 18/07/2007 23:22

newlifenewname, this is one topic I can contribute fearing my braincells will take a beating. Pots I can handle.

newlifenewname · 18/07/2007 23:24

I sm amused that this thread has created such excitement.

I have Asda Value pans with about 3 le creuset items thrown in.

I do cherish my le creuset so I do understand pan love.

StarryStarryNight · 18/07/2007 23:39

It also makes a light hearted change, when thinking about other recent popular threads...

And you know, some are potty about pans!

StarryStarryNight · 18/07/2007 23:42

MintyDixCharrington · 19/07/2007 07:29
