I want to treat myself to a really good new set of saucepans - any recommendations?

I have a motley collection of rather vile saucepans acquired over the years from various odd places, the nice ones we had for our wedding 12 years ago have pretty much had it

I would ideally like something with a stainless steel outside and non-stick inside. I don't want metal handles on the lids or metal handles as they both get hot! Must be dishwasherable

Anyone?

SNORT
where on earth did you find that bundle

right, i wash my hands of this request for advice now, CD, things don't stick if you pay attention to them. We NEVER use any non stick items of any description in pro kitchens. I think non stick is a huge emperor's new clothes style marketing ploy. harrumph

I swear twas the Le Cruesets what gave me a hernia. Honest! They're so damned heavy. Mine were a wedding pressie and I certainly wouldn't choose them again. And with those wooden handles, you can't put them in the dishwasher. They do cook beautifully, though, and seem to be virtually indestructible!

Enid · 18/07/2007 11:18

i use chefs pan for sauces (non stick)

sauces dont stick tbh , i make cheese sauce in them all the time

CountessDracula · 18/07/2007 11:19

OP posts:
Wisteria · 18/07/2007 11:25

I love my le Creuset saucepans - the dishwasher is always too full for pans anyway so that doesn't bother me, yes they are heavy but nothing else cooks as well IMHO.

suzywong · 18/07/2007 11:25

YES!!!

and tell me how they feel to the touch and how they smell when you get them out of the packaging and how heavy they are and how the lids clang .................................... oooooooh MATRON!!!!!
