Dd (4.5) has had a v hard time lately, I want to get her a fantastic dress for Saturday ... any ideas?

For anyone who's been following my thread about dd and her recent health problems this will make more sense. But without going into it all again here she's a lovely girl, has been a total trooper through an extremely tough few months and is going to a dear friend's party at the weekend. I've been so stressed about her that I haven't even thought about what she might wear and would like to treat her to something really special. I've been scouting around online and can't find a thing. Maybe I'm too late to order something before Saturday anyhow ...

She doesn't like pink, super girly type things but loves bright colours and flower / stripey type patterns.

Nice to hear from you Aimsmum! I always remember your dd's 'dissection' phase ...

i'll think miraculous thoughts for her tonight, IF. it must be awful for you both to see her in pain. are you having to be super-careful in this sunshine or is it not really like that?

imaginaryfriend · 12/06/2007 23:06

Sarcoidosis is the second of the three possibilities. There's a third which is very unlikely but is potentially without cure. That's the scary one. The one we don't talk about!

Yes, she can't tolerate the sun on her face at all. But she's always been sensitive to heat.

i vote for the first theory.

so many gorgeous dresses!

have fun shopping. she really is a trooper.

imaginaryfriend · 12/06/2007 23:16

Thanks Aitch. It's rubbish. But heck, it could be worse. The 3rd scenario is a real long-shot and it's only my neurotic tendencies that keep drawing my mind to it. Scenario 1 & 2 are manageable.

Thanks misdee. And everyone else.

I'm going to head to bed now as I may have a night of itchy dd ahead.

Greensleeves - the halter neck polka dot one is just gorgeous. She'd love the blue and white OR the black and white one. But can I get it for Saturday?!

Sorr don't have time to find the link.

imaginaryfriend · 13/06/2007 14:05

I raced out at lunchtime and got her the Debenhams black and white spotty number. It's gorgeous. Thanks again for all the help. And for the links to all these brilliant clothes websites i hadn't come across before. I feel my bank account dribbling away over the summer ...

Thanks Aimsmum. I'm going to resist giving it to her until Saturday. If I can!

that was a good one, well done. now... a rabbit hat... will keep my eye out.

imaginaryfriend · 13/06/2007 21:00

A rabbit anything to be honest. I can't tell you how mad she is on rabbits, it's bordering on the crazed . She does pictures of rabbits all day at school, has a 'rabbit gallery' of pictures by her bed which she constantly likes to go over with me to decide which is the 'cutest'. And she's got about 9 rabbit soft toys who are played with constantly. Dp was showing her some rabbit photos from the newspaper this evening and she was virtually hyperventilating with excitement!!

Bless her imaginaryfriend - looked on your profile and she is a beauty. And sounds even more beautiful within. It must be so tough to deal with everything. Fingers crossed for all of you and esp your DD.

The dress is gorgeous!
