Am I a sad git to think that this looks rather fabulous?

I envisage myself lying in it with a book while also "supervising" sandpit activities

but it is rather grannyish

whaddya think?

and it is called "Adrian" which really doesn't help

TenaLady · 05/06/2007 13:06

oh no, its lovely, Ive been wanting one of those for ages.

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:06

oh this is rather nice too, it doesn't swing but I could do the lounging and book bit

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:08

yes tenalady, but your name doesn't inspire confidence that you aren't in fact an old git too

are you 97?! reassure me please

on a practical note - don't know how the white will look after a British Summer, probably grubby.

IntergalacticWalrus · 05/06/2007 13:09

No, quite like it

Although I agree calling it "Adrian" was probably a mistake. But at least it's not "Keith" or "sandra"

I'd like one, but there wouldn't be any room left in my jardin

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:09

well it is cotton so washable...

themoon66 · 05/06/2007 13:09

at those prices.

LynetteScavo · 05/06/2007 13:09

What a great site! Really nice furniture. I need some new garden furniture, and just can't aford it at the moment.

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:09

Adrian is probably a deeply trendy name in Italy where this co is from

Maybe they should have called it Hadrian ha ha ha

hmmmm

What about "Madison"?

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:10

it is seriously good, well made stuff lynette

prices actually very good for that quality (although I take your point)

pmsl, Actually I am a middle class Yummy Mummy, I just market myself on here as an old git to get away with murder!

chevre · 05/06/2007 13:12

fabulous and flame proofed too! what the hell is sanforized.

i owul love one

Tutter · 05/06/2007 13:12

think they both look beautiful, but am not so sure they would be comfortable enough for entire afternoons of lounging (i like to put my feet up)

nice to perch alongside a friend or two with glasses of pimms steadily arriving all afternoon though

IntergalacticWalrus · 05/06/2007 13:12

Think Adrain lokks a bit more comfortable.

Howevere, I agree with the point about the colour being impractical - it would be covered in muddy hand prints withing seconds here at chez Walrus

KTeePee · 05/06/2007 13:12

The only downside is that my kids would want to be swinging on it themselves rather than playing in the sandpit and leaving me in peace!

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:12

he he he I know
it was the juxtaposition of my fear of "grannyish"ness and the word "Tena" that got me

OP posts:
Ceolas · 05/06/2007 13:13

Adrian looks fab. However if I had a spare £1300, I doubt I'd be slinging it in his direction...

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:14

but it is for summer use, and on lawn, so muddy handprints not really likely (although obviously dripping ice lollies etc are a given). grass stains perhaps. It doesn't have to remain pristine as long as it remains comfy

I am seriously tempted

my dh wants one (reminds him of his childhood), how cheeky would it be to get it for his xmas present 6 months early? hahahaha

OP posts:
PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:15

I have a 10% discount
which makes a tiny improvement in price
it would last forever
etc
etc
etc

OP posts:
Tutter · 05/06/2007 13:17

think it's lovely

but have you considered this as a very sensible alternative?

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:18

oh god it looks like it would tip backwards if you sat in it

nd that is one of the many hideous things that one could say about it

adrian is suddenly looking jolly rugged and suave

OP posts:
Singapore · 05/06/2007 13:20

No not sad at all, I think it looks lovely and could very easily sign up to a summer of sitting on it with children playing at my feet and a nice cool drink to hand

Tutter · 05/06/2007 13:21

hee hee

please enlarge image to appreciate it at its best
