Am I a sad git to think that this looks rather fabulous?

I envisage myself lying in it with a book while also "supervising" sandpit activities

but it is rather grannyish

whaddya think?

I love the Unopiu catalogue, more even than the Lakeland catalogue. It's so aspirational. Sadly I think it's mostly the location of the photo shoots that I aspire to and no amount of upmarket garden furniture is going to turn a Docklands flat into Tuscany/Provance.

I keep marking pages with things that I might buy when we move to Dublin and have a garden, I'm hoping it's the type of design that will also look good in the rain.

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:23

OH my god

now please tell me that DFS do one in electric blue leather with huge carved wooden sides and my day will be complete!

it is brilliant isn't it bran

except their section of tablemats etc always really upsets me, I have to leaf though that bit VERY quickly

but then you get onto beautiful awnings and gazebos and all is right with the world again

I love that it becomes a 'totally bed'...

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:25

Adrian is beginning to sound like a strong, silent, man you can TRUST

Buy it...you know you wanna...

bran · 05/06/2007 13:28

Oh God, yes. When I get to that section I so want to have a beautiful, arched, wooden frame that I can grow tasty grapes on and sit underneath in dappled shade. [sigh]

MegaLegs · 05/06/2007 13:28

I really, really want this one

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:28

hmmmmm

I have been musing over this for about 6 months

but then I was in the garden earlier, lying on the hard ground (cue violins), thinking "that swing seat would look excellent right THERE"...

hmmmm

I love it but I am aghast at the price!!!!!

Still, if you have £1,300 for garden furniture then buy away....

LynetteScavo · 05/06/2007 13:29

Well, tutter, at that price I have no excuse for not buying new garden furnatre.

Except, I wouldn't actually wnat that in my garden. My mother does have somehting similar, though! Can't convince the DC's it's not a climbing frame / swing combination.

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:30

yes megalegs I've seen those in the flesh so to speak, but they are just a bit TOO fringed and padded and cushioned and oldfashioned. they look a bit like they'd start to smell musty in a few months

adrian is just a bit crisper, don't you think?

OP posts:
MegaLegs · 05/06/2007 13:30

We actually have an old sofa in the garden at the moment (put it ou tthere before DS2's party in erm... April and it's still there) I cover it with a groundsheet when it rains and put the cushions in the shed. It's under a weepy ash tree and it's luxury an a sunny day.

contentiouscat · 05/06/2007 13:30

Ohh Ive always wanted one of those, I suspect it is something else I would use a few times then put in the shed to go mildewy!

Fancy calling it Adrian (thinks to herself would I really want to lay on top of adrian in the garden)

foxinsocks · 05/06/2007 13:31

what do you do with it when it rains?

mumto3girls · 05/06/2007 13:31

Megalegs...that is wrong...I'mnot sure exactly why...but it's definitely wrong.

Tutter · 05/06/2007 13:31

your second link is the kind of thing i'm trying to track down to hire in bulk for our party later this month

PrincessPeaHead · 05/06/2007 13:31

we aren't going away this summer and when we made the decision I did say "I'd rather spend the cash on a decent bit of furniture or a painting"...

well this would make a dent in that amount. and it is a decent bit of furniture, really....

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 05/06/2007 13:31

Mega legs, it's really nice in white, but the other colours! YUK!

I would forget to take the cusions in over night and they'd be ruined.

Merlin · 05/06/2007 13:32

Looks fab I agree! ..............

However, we have a rather old battered version, which whenever I think I'll just rest a while and watch the children they just want to jump on with me and swing away!!!!!
