@ditzychick34

We have asked for a Stationery Cupboard in the past; request denied due to perceived lack of interest Shock

lolaflores · 02/02/2018 15:05

Oh hello.
I was only enjoying a fountain pen this morning in a perfectly normal way and not filling blank pages with lovely shapes and swirls.
Not me.
No.

splendide · 02/02/2018 15:09

Do you have one? I do love pens but I’ve never heard of these.

IJoinedJustToPostThis · 02/02/2018 15:14

I don't have one - there are a couple of very (suspiciously? Don't want to be cynical. Maybe the authors are just pen freaks too) positive reviews on Amazon.

PetraDelphiki · 02/02/2018 18:39

I do have one (or two or possibly 3)...I saw them at a craft fair and a pen just forced itself on me! They are lovely to hold and you can choose different nibs and swap them! And they’ll send you free refillable ink thingies if you don’t want to use cartridges (or if your dh buys you sparkly purple ink)...

Not got any connection to them btw other than really liking their products!!

Of course if I had to buy myself one (or two) more I could then get this ink..

I like the orange one.

I am tempted but i really can't buy anymore pens. I am eagerly awaiting the arrived of the Lamy al star 2018 special addition and I just replaced my Lamy lx rose gold fountain pen which I have apparently lost somewhere along the way.

So very tempting though........

splendide · 02/02/2018 20:17

I’ve just bought this ink, it’s lovely -

do people use their fountain pens for work? I love pens, notebooks, all the stationery, but would never have thought to get a fountain pen, mainly due to haing to re-fill, and potential leaking problems (school days horror - maybe a thing of the past now?)

splendide · 08/02/2018 20:16

I use mine at work! And moleskine cahier XL as work notebooks.

I have 3 in use on a regular basis, all with converters and bottle ink. One is a Cross, one Sailor and one Platinum.

Plus a plastic lamy for glittery ink (I’m worried about clogging my good pens) and a kaweco sport in my handbag.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 08/02/2018 21:51

I use my fountain pens at work. Unfortunately I have to use black ink. I use cartridges for ease and never really have any leakage.

I must have about 20 fountain pens that I rotate. Different colored pens depending on my mood and what I'm wearing!

chatwoo · 08/02/2018 22:38

Thanks for your replies; this is a new world of stationery I've never tapped into...!!

Would you have any recommendations for a "starter" fountain pen? Not too expensive / precious, but still available in fabulous colours Wink

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 08/02/2018 22:59

I use fps at work, currently. A set of wing sung 905s with various inks matching them, my favourite is earl grey by Diamine.
Starters, I'd go for a lamy, the new one is bright pink. Matching ink.
On a sad note Cult crack pens has been bought by Wh smiths, aka tge shittest shop on the high street.

WheresTheHooferDoofer · 08/02/2018 23:03

Hope they don't try to change a successful website, Cult Pens is great.

drinkswineoutofamug · 08/02/2018 23:04

Does anyone remember learning joined up writing at primary school , and when you perfected it , you could have a fountain pen. Biros not allowed.
Love a good fountain pen

WheresTheHooferDoofer · 08/02/2018 23:09

I recall a recent thread where someone gave a recommendation for a good pen under £50, and I can't recall the name of the pen.

Meanwhile I have to say I've not had any problems with shimmery ink in my pens, no clogging so far. I just ensure I really shake the bottle before filling the pen, and routinely lightly shake the pen to move the ink around inside. Seems to work.
