Is there anyone on here that is left handed and can still write with a fountain pen ?

I'm left handed and write very happily with a standard Safari nib. I write with quite a straight hand though and am aware that many others do not.

A big thank you to the OP. I ordered 2 pens on the BOGOF and love them so much I ordered 2 more to give as presents (perhaps to myself)

Evening, stationery fans. We're moving this to our very exciting new Stationery Cupboard topic so that it doesn't disappear...

I bought some Lamy red cartridges for my Safari...but it leaks badly. Black cartridges don't leak. Why is this - is red ink thinner?
I contacted Lamy and they just said to return the leaky pen to where is bought it But it's not the pen, it's the ink.

Any thoughts, please? I'd like to be able to use red ink (teacher).

Going back to the original post, has anyone bought a Ploom? And what are they like?

Am being promised a new pen for my birthday, and trying to choose......

@mophead I'd love to know myself - I contacted them and the owner said they have a completely no-quibble guarantee if you want to try one out. I'm VERY tempted, but am a bit put off by what seems to be quite a ridge between the barrel and chrome nib section. But every review I've read said they write very well..

Yep, I remember at school when we started using fountain pens and it was almost treated like a rite of passage.
