What's the most useless pileofshite kitchen applicance you ever bought/received?

I'm tired of all these feel-good bargain buy threads. Well, I like them, but I need some counterweight

So .. what's the most useless rip-off aspirational piece of crap you ever bought for your kitchen? And as a bonus for ten, what's the msot useless kitchen thing you ever received as a gift?

I think mine was probably the electric toasted sandwich maker I bought in a fit of madness. Useless fecking thing - took forever to clean, burned the edges of the sandwiches, heated the cheese inside to gum-scarring temperatures, etc.

the most useless gift I got was a thing for pitting olives.

I bought a mouli because Annabel Karamel said every home should have one. Attempted to use it once and now it's stuffed in the back of a cupboard somewhere!

my sandwich maker is equally crap plus the slices of bread need to be no larger that 2cm squared to fit in it!

I got one of those onion choppers but it just runs wild and it nearly dismembered me.

I did buy a pasta machine and it is the one thing I have bought and never used at all..never even looked at the instructions

That would have to be the juicer. Though the pasta maker is a bit of a disappointment - fun to use but I feel like a contestant on The Generation Game every time, and the pasta sticks to itself in a soggy, solid lump.

Gobshite, I used to love my sandwich toaster! And I use my olive stoner every few weeks when I make pizza - you know you can also use it for stoning cherries, too?!

I bought a mouli because my mum was always using one, of course my mum liked cooking. It's still in it's box.

I was given a battery operated milk frother as a Christmas present, I drink my coffee black as I don't digest milk very well.

Oh, mandolins are a nightmare - you can take 3 or 4 slices off your fingers without even noticing. My MIL wanted to get me one for my birthday but I said I wasn't having one in the house till dcs were all grown up, and she gave me £30 of Lakeland vouchers instead

Those wipe clean thingies that you put on bottom of oven for easy cleaning etc -its totally flimsy and cos my oven fan assisted, it just flaps it around the oven!!!

Some of those little bags with which you can make toasties in the toaster. The filling inside was always cold.
Also, an egg white beater thingy from Lakeland. Absolute sh1te! I just can't resist Lakeland, though. Perfect consumer, me.

KathyMCMLXXII - I would've gone for the Lakeland vouchers instead, too!!

Most useless/nuisance to use item has to be the sandwich toaster. A short lived fad that the family loved but which I always had to clean. Plus it took up space on the counter top and I resented that! If we want toasted sarnies I much prefer to use Toastabags (Lakeland ).

Dd was given a smoothie maker which I also loathe as when she went to make something with it we had to go to the shop for some vital ingredient that was not in our fridge.
And I hated cleaning the smoothie maker too. Hence that and the pesky sandwich toaster are both stored out of sight and out of mind.

The bread maker was not the time saver it ought to have been. Timed myself once - set the breadmaker, then began making bread by hand, and guess what - the loaves I made by hand (a week's worth which I could freeze)were out of the oven before the breadmaker loaf was done. Plus, the breadmaker made a tall loaf with the dough hook hole in the base, which didn't even slice well enough to make sandwiches for the family. I sold it
