I am wanting some MPV info please. Our toyota previa got written off last week (have another thread on that), and we are now looking for another car.
I really want another previa but they are proving very hard to find, so am now needing to look for other MPV's. Problem is I don't actually know any of the names of the other makes to look any up on the PCBlush.

Hoping you lovely ladies can help me. :)

Car needs to be big enough for 5 kiddies and holiday luggage as we going on hols in 3wks! I know that vauxhall safira's are out,and we know that cos that is what the insurance co. have kindly supplied. We can't even get a weeks shopping in when we all insideShock!

So.......do you have an MPV, what type is it, and is it any good??

Thankyou lots.

i have a vw caravelle 8 seater for sale it is big enough for ny 7 children (only selling as a now need a 9 seater)!!!!!! 2.5 tdi auto we are looking for around £10.500ish vreg yr2000

scienceteacher · 01/06/2006 13:25

We are very happy with our Citroen C8. It's a seven-seater, so with the back two taken out there would be bags of room for holiday luggage and the obligatory hypermarket purchases.

It's our third MPV, and by far the best - the sliding electric doors are fab, and it is really easy to drive and park. It is very reasonably priced.

Auntymandy · 01/06/2006 13:27

I got a galaxy in Feb. Wanted an 8 seater car but not much around at the time so we settled for 7!
I love it. Had a Zafira before that loved that too but too small for us.

mumo75 · 01/06/2006 13:28

i can fit my jane powertwin in boot without folding it up and i also have 2 sliding side doors

psychomum5 · 01/06/2006 13:29

thanks mumo75. have looked one up on autotrader and they look about right.

now need a few more options to find to show DH when he gets home....:)

we have a seat alhambra, simialr sized to the previa but I would have thought that it would be a squeeze with 5 kids. We have four and it's a nice size for us. They are also reasonably priced and made alongside VW so good cars. The renault espace is bigger, we had that on holiday and found it a lot more roomy.

Auntymandy · 01/06/2006 13:33

There are 7 of us and the galaxy is fine

psychomum5 · 01/06/2006 13:33

auntymandy...is the galaxy by ford?? what is the boot space like??

Just noticed that you actually have five kids, psychomum, not a family of 5, therefore you need all 7 seats of an MPV.

We also have five children and did OK on holiday with our C8. There is a reasonable space behind the boot for cases (we have gone for short breaks just using the boot space). But for a proper holiday, you really need a roof box.

I think the Previa and Grand Espace have slightly larger boot space, but I doubt this would be enough to avoid the roof box. A roof box is not a problem, btw, but you are more limited with parking - can't use inside parking, and lots of outdoor places have bars to prevent high vehicles coming in.

MerlinsBeard · 01/06/2006 13:37

have got more brochures on the way but can't remember what for Blush

psychomum5 · 01/06/2006 13:38

hello mumofmonsters. huge hugs for you:) will try links in a mo....

scienceteacher...we do in fact have a roofboox, so that is one problem solved, but like you say they no good in multistories. I found that one out when I drove into one and got stuck a few years agoBlushBlush

yes its ford. The boot isnt huge but much bigger than the zafira so I think its big!!!
I can fit in most of my shopping. Managed weekends away without much prob. I am good at packing light though!
Loads of space between rows of sets too and ours has built in baby seats which I find useful

MerlinsBeard · 01/06/2006 13:41
