My three year old boy is desperate for 'girls shoes'. Hmmm.

Gobbledigook · 25/09/2005 17:00

OMG - i've no idea!!

steffee · 25/09/2005 17:00

DS1 age 5:

  • skateboard with helmet and knee pads and all that
  • some more legp
  • Thomas desk
  • cars, trucks, buses
  • more cars
  • whatever he asks for, possibly something handheld and game-y
  • leopard books and real books

DD age 3

  • skates?
  • easel and drawing stuff
  • something for her "dolly", like car seat, cot etc
  • possibly a dolls house, I reckon that'll be her 'big' present

DS2 age 2 on 22nd Dec

  • garage so he leaves his brothers alone and they don't fight
  • kitchen (he loves this at other people's houses)
  • cars, trucks and buses
  • magnetic sketching thing
  • trike?
  • train set?

I haven't a clue really, got all their birthdays before Christmas, so concentrating on that.

steffee · 25/09/2005 17:02

Oh yeah and books and dvds, and the dreaded 'stocking fillers' that cost more than the 'big presents'!

Thomcat · 25/09/2005 17:10

So far I have got Lottie:

  • a wooden pull along Wag the Dog
  • some new wind up bath toys, a diver, fish etc
  • some fashion / clothes bath magnet things
  • a hobby horse, has a really short stick so she can bum shuffle along with it
  • a funky girls sleeping bag
  • a lily doll purple velvet bed
  • aqua draw
  • glow worm soft toy
  • books

Also bought her Baby Born doll and potty etc to give her when her new brother or sister arrives, (due 22 Dec)

I need to get some more bits as it's her birthday on the 17th so some will be Xmas and some b.day pressies.

DS wants LEGO

A good tip to others buying lego is to not try to build it til boxing day, pieces don't get lost and something to look forward to,

teeavee · 25/09/2005 17:34

mine will only be 17 months, so I'll get him some playmobil for toddlers. He's already got some, it's definitely his fave toy, lasts well, and is ethical (made in malta)

bonkerz · 25/09/2005 17:37

This is the first year my DS has actually ASKED for stuff for christmas! He is 5 and we have got away with buying stuff we want him to have but hes started pointing at TV and saying I WANT THAT FOR CHRISTMAS!!! nightmare especially cos baby due December and was hoping to keep costs down! So far on his list is the talking scooby, various DVDs, and loads of other toys!

dd2 (aged 2.5) is getting a dolls house, quite like the one in GLTC.
dd1 wants a new desk, and a rubics cube.

ds however wants a laptop (!) or a guitar that costs over £400 me thinks he may be let down on that this year!!!!!!!!!!!

and ditto you TC, dd2 is also getting a baby doll when her new brother/sister arrives in dec

WestCountryLass · 25/09/2005 21:04

I've got DD a Graco baby buggy and baby Chou Chou, both were bargains picked up.

DS will probably get something Thunderbirds orientated.

Hulababy · 25/09/2005 21:08

Ooh - I did some of DD's Christmas present shopping today - the bulk of it infact I went on that Toys and Nursery website and got her

  • a big Silver Cross pram - she is very eager too have a proper pram for her dolls as othe rone is small and a bit tatty
  • a Barbie Cinderella carriage - she is Princess mad and has drooled over this in the shops. Only £10 on the site
  • Singing Dora - something else I don't normally buy but as it was reduced...
aloha · 25/09/2005 21:10

I've looked at all ds's toys, at how little he plays with them and how many books he has, and have decided the ideal situation would be to not get him anything! But I have to as he is four and this is really his 'first' Christmas (that he will fully understand and participate in).
Really am baffled though. I see lots of lovely things but we don't need anything!

Hulababy · 25/09/2005 21:13

Have to think of present ideas for grandparents, great grandparents, aunties and uncles (and my aunties/uncles) to get her yet too...

I know she'd like the VTech art box thing to use with her VSmile, and also the new Dora game. Think there is a new Dora book for Leappad coming out too.

She wants the |Happy Land Church too and the Enchanted Toadstool think from ELc.

She's mentioned musical instruments, music and books.

She'd also love that pink castle in ELC but I decided to get her the pram instead. So I doubt she'll get that now!

aloha · 25/09/2005 21:14

Ooh, a trip is a really good idea! Theatre or cinema. he was pretty thrilled with the bike seat on dad's bike for his birthday, which we were getting anyway.

Caligula · 25/09/2005 21:17

DD (3 and a half) at bedtime mentioned that she wants a Malibu Stacey doll like Lisa in the Simpsons! Is there such a thing?

That's what I thought. Because at first she said she wanted a Barbie like Lisa, and I thought she was referring to a lisa in her playgroup. Then when the penny dropped and I said oh yes, she has Malibu Stacey, doesn't she, she changed her mind and decided she wanted that, instead of Barbie.

Not sure about the suitability of a Barbie doll for a 3 year old though. I suppose that's just my swede eating puritan side coming out though.
