Hollywood waxes - male and female opinions

Jomummy1013 · 06/02/2023 12:08

Hey, what are the general consensus on the above? I've had Hollywood waxes for a good few years now. I like the cleanliness of it and my partner likes it. My friend however has said she thinks only strange paedo type men would like this, I completely disagree. She hasn't had a partner for years so these are her feelings with no one else's input. What do others think? I would never say a man who likes it is strange.

I've been having Hollywoods for years. Now the thought of any pubic hair fills me with dread because I have started getting greys!!! My OH loves the clean, hair free look on me too. He shaves his genital area although I never asked him to. So he must do that for himself.

Jomummy1013 · 06/02/2023 15:45

But I have never been with a man who has had a Hollywood (is it called that for a man?)
Do men get the whole lot taken off? Previous partners have always trimmed it down but not had it waxed off x

She said she doesn't do anything with downstairs.

It's quite a leap from this, to a fully hollywood, she probably just can't get her head round it. The paedo comment is irelevant. It's just fashion, all off rose with the advent of the internet and the availability of porn, just like leg shaving for women did in the 1920s when it was unheard of prior to that. Horses for courses.

I can’t imagine not having hair, it is a curiosity to wonder what it would look and feel like however.

I had a massive bush before I started trimming it was awful 😂😂😂
I would always want to get rid of some of it x

That’s understandable, I don’t mind having a bush as I see it as womanly but equally having no hair is just the same really. Just preference as some have said which is fine

I've experienced both the "natural look" and also hairless with a couple of girlfriends pre-marriage and occasionally with DW in the early days that we were together and were having fun time trying out different things. I love women's bodies anyway, and in terms of intimate fun, both smooth and "as nature intended" are delightful.

But on balance, I prefer her to have pubes. DW's are neat and tidy with a lovely glimpse of her vulva when she's standing up. They look gorgeous, are uniquely part of her, and for me, it enhances oral sex. They hold her delicate sexy scent, which are a big part of the turn-on for me.

I really don't follow the logic of the argument, which says that pubic hair is "unhygienic or "dirty." Surely that's more to do with regularity of washing or not? A daily shower is perfectly adequate.

But totally each to their own. Everyone has their preferences, smooth, trimmed, shaped or au naturale and that's fine with me as far as pubes are concerned.

Jomummy1013 · 06/02/2023 17:35

@Iloveabaconbutty thank you for your reply. Your talk about your DW made me smile - I can tell you clearly fancy the pants off her and think the world of her x

Jomummy1013 · 06/02/2023 17:36

I don't think pubes are dirty or unhygienic- as @Iloveabaconbutty said, a shower daily takes care of that. I wouldn't want to be near anyone who didn't take their personal hygiene seriously. Pubes or no pubes, no excuse for being dirty x

@SunSmile I can see the womanly perspective. The images of women with the curves and the pubes, are indeed womanly. X

There are several comments on here already though referring to hair removal as “cleaner” or more hygienic. Which implies that pubic hair is somehow dirty or not as hygienic.

why do people not feel cleaner removing head hair? Why is it only body hair that is unhygienic?

I like my body hair. I don’t like the look of bald pubes. I have had a couple of boyfriends who have asked me to remove it, clearly porn driven as they referred to it. They got dumped pretty quickly.

for reference- hair removal is actually less hygienic as however you remove the hair it leaves microtears and grazes in the skin which can harbour bacteria and cause infection. Hospital protocols now are not to remove hair prior to surgery, and has been for a long time.

Jomummy1013 · 06/02/2023 17:50

@Newnamenewme23 actually you're quite right - I myself even said cleaner! I didn't mean it in the sense pubes are dirty. As I said previously, keeping them clean is a personal hygiene thing, not a pube thing. And you're right - the odd time I have had an in growing hair. And I've attacked it with tweezers, not always successful in removing the hair and left myself with a gaping wound on my vag. Horrible and painful x

The ingrowing thing is an infection risk too I guess x

I’m not keen on the hair free look on men or women, just looks odd to me. Even men who trim make me feel a bit 🤢. I assume it’s an age thing (in 50s and been married 25 years) I can’t think of a single bloke I’ve seen ‘intimately’ who trimmed.

Eyerollcentral · 06/02/2023 18:14

Jomummy1013 · 06/02/2023 15:31

Mainly cos I was wondering if I am a weirdo for having it done, and I wanted any male opinion's as I have only ever asked my partner and he doesn't think it's a paedoish, I'm curious about others' viewpoints x

Thing is no man who likes it is going to actually say I love it because I see it in porn or I’m a bit of a perv is he? You do whatever you like with your own body but I mean there is a reason the female body evolved with pubic hair. I’ve been a fan of waxing myself in the past, briefly. But once I really started thinking bout what I was doing I couldn’t get past how ridiculous it felt to me

cravingthelook · 06/02/2023 18:27

I get waxed now, also in my 40's and it's only been a few years.

My hair is light coloured but gets coarse and it's the best way I like to keep it under control.
Wax everything every six weeks, it's smooth, then fluffy and the wax gets done just before it gets too coarse again.

My partner doesn't care, he is happy with our intimacy at any stage of my hair growth. He just knows it's my way of controlling the wild growth.

Point being, do what you like. Everyone else does.

Absolutely I do!!😍

LlynTegid · 06/02/2023 21:08

Personal choice. Only time I think it looks strange is on some fairer skinned women, though in no way does it make them look younger.

As for men, have noticed in saunas abroad that some men do have hair removed 'down there'. Looks strange if they have lots of chest hair though!

Mumskisail · 06/02/2023 21:13

Just get it all lasered off permanently. So much less hassle and you'll save money in the long run. I like mine completely smooth and naked. Feels so soft and lovely. Can't stand pubes. It's all for me and I really don't care what my fella thinks. Although in my experience they spend WAY longer down there. I am worshipped like a goddess. Everyone wins 😂

StarlightLady · 06/02/2023 22:30

l think use of “cleaner” on this thread, refers to the well known term “clean shaven”. I don’t think anyone is suggesting those who opt to sport pubic hair are dirtier than anyone else.

It’s a simple personal choice.

AlexaAdventuress · 07/02/2023 10:00

I enjoy being bare down there. Of course, I can survive with public hair, as the majority of people have for millennia, but given the choice, I'm happier without it, in terms of the look and feel, in terms of enjoyment of sex, and in terms of my everyday relationship with my yoni. I prefer shaving to waxing. It only takes a few moments, and it's certainly no more trouble than shaving my knobbly knees, and a lot quicker than washing my hair.

WandaWonder · 07/02/2023 10:02

I personally don't get hair removal down there for men or women, to me it is their for a reason so I want it left alone

WildTing · 07/02/2023 10:07

I think complete removal of pubic hair looks prepubescent particularly if you are small breasted, petite and have an innie or chubby vulva/labia. It's horrific when a man specifically wants women who look like they are 11, everything tiny and hairless. Hair does a great favour disguising the imperfections and provides protection in sex, hair removal makes you more vulnerable to infections due to cuts.
Nobody cares though what I think as I'm a middle aged straight woman who detests porn.

beingsunny · 07/02/2023 10:11

I started waxing again around 18mths ago, I have everything off, I like how it feels. I'm single and not dating so absolutely nothing to do with any man's opinion either.

Rieslinger · 07/02/2023 10:40

Personally I love it with my fella being smooth, love the cool feeling I get. At the same time I've recently grown a little back, once I got through da itch it's good too.

My DW loved her beautiful Baldilocks then again decided to grow a little back. She looks amazing any way she grows it (or not!).
