Smooth/shaved

Was going to name change but couldn’t be bothered.

So apparently most women under 30 are hairless down there and apparently most men prefer women without hair.

I am single but dating and having NSA sex. I would love to be smooth down there but whenever I shave I end up with small boils where the hair grows back or I get really sore which sometimes resaults in thrush. I am petrified ath the thought of waxing but is it the only way?

Lazer?

I waxed until a few months ago ( not all off but nearly), until I had a terrible wax where I think the wax wasn't hot enough and have been PLAgued with ingrowning hairs. I'm considering lazer now. Expensive but I figured it's the best option.

I do it for myself though, I actually think most men are happy with a tidy lady garden , not all off iykwim.

Lovemusic33 · 14/02/2018 16:56

Thanks pudding I do want it done for myself but I can handle just having it neatly trimmed. Does waxing hurt?

Do you shave with the grain or against the grain of your hair? I shave with the grain and it still leaves a completely smooth finish but without a single ingrowing hair! I'm not very hairy to start with though (natural blonde) so am quite lucky!

Armygirl · 14/02/2018 19:05

Waxing isn’t that bad I don’t think. Great results afterwards. Would love something more permanent though! Is laser absolutely permanent?

Lovemusic33 · 14/02/2018 20:15

Daisy I have tried both, my hair is quite thick Sad, I have tried hair removal creams for my bikini line but won’t risk burning off my foof so it’s eaither waxing or laser but that sounds painful.

I shave against the grain. Use a silicone lube instead of shaving gel and use a good quality new or fairly new blade.

Or just trim with an electric razor! Much as I love that smooth feeling, this is a lot easier.

TJ2503 · 14/02/2018 20:58

I have a regular monthly wax (all off). However I only have the hot wax not strip waxing and it makes the world of difference.

sparly1131 · 14/02/2018 21:32

This can be a cause for thrush as the hairs protect that area I have started leaving just a little down there x

Wherearemymarbles · 14/02/2018 22:05

Laser is not painless. Having labia lasered even less so. Think bad sunburn pain for a Few days
It does work but you may need a lot of treatments. Standard is iirc 5 or 6 sessions. You may need double this for it to be permanent.

missrabbit23 · 14/02/2018 22:34

It's ingrown hairs buy a pair of exfoliating gloves £0.80 at Tesco and exfoliate regularly they will al disappear

JustAnIdiot · 14/02/2018 22:41

I've been using a Philips Lumea light-pulse thing after shaving my armpits, legs & bikini line & have noticed much much less regrowth after just 2-3 uses.

Works best on dark hair with white skin.

No way would I get rid of my bush though! I prefer it neatly trimmed r/t off altogether (tried it for a couple of years as XH really preferred it but I didn't like the look or feel) & current FWB keeps encouraging me to grow it longer Shock

MorganKitten · 14/02/2018 23:59

There’s a cream called magic smooth, it’s made for black men to use on their heads. I use it elsewhere, have done since I was 16 (30 now) never any bumps!

UndomesticHousewife · 15/02/2018 00:28

There’s no way I could laser that part it’s actually quite painful like elastic bands being pinged hard on your skin!

bk1981 · 15/02/2018 16:56

If you have pale skin and dark hair you can try Philips ipl. Its pulses of light that put your hair to 'sleep' rather than killing them off like lasering.

You start by shaving then doing the treatment, initially every two weeks and then less frequently as the hair growth slows. My bikkini line doesnt grow at all now as long as i use the ipl every few weeks.

Had previously tried shaving, waxing and
cream and got terrible ingrowing hair with them all, but i dont with ipl.

itsbetterthanabox · 15/02/2018 18:27

There's nothing wrong with pubic hair. I'm under 30 and have pubes! If a man can't handle that he doesn't deserve any action anyway.

Chapsview · 15/02/2018 18:40

itsbetterthanabox OP has said she would love to be smooth - why do these always turn into a "love your pubes" and he doesn't deserve any action if he can't cope?

Next somebody will tell us that OP will look like a prepubescent girl. BTW women without pubes do NOT look in any way prepubescent!!

OP my current DP swears by going down the laser route.

fluffyalive · 15/02/2018 18:52

I have met several men that love a hairy triangle! I think I look my adult with my hair so I keep it like nature intended.

itsbetterthanabox · 15/02/2018 19:28

@Chapsview
The op said

So apparently most women under 30 are hairless down there and apparently most men prefer women without hair.

That sounds to me like someone who feels they should be hair removing.

Chapsview · 15/02/2018 19:36

No itsbetterthanabox - she said she would love to.

The key word is "apparently" - I would never venture to suggest what most women or men want - you can have a MN view, a media view etc.

My personal view is that this was the OP asking for skin care/hair removal tips - NOT relationship (he does not deserve action) tips.

itsbetterthanabox · 15/02/2018 19:38

@Chapsview
I was directly quoting from the op.

Chapsview · 15/02/2018 19:49

itsbetterthanabox - as was I.
I just get so fed up with this sort of thing on MN.
She asked for skin care tips and as per usual somebody pops up with comments him not "deserving" the action.
I presume OP is quite enjoying her dalliance with her NSA chap - and was simply asking fellow MN users for the best solution to her problem.

PrimalLady · 15/02/2018 19:50

Maybe compromise like me.

I don't like the full Bush look, but I don't look right completely bald, and I also get shaving rashes and the odd ingrown hair that's totally rank.

I find leaving a short triangle (3-6mm) with the bottom point of the triangle finishing just about the labia. Everything else I shave smooth.

I still get slight rashes but the hair kind of makes it less of a focus for me.

I dort think there's anything wrong with having a preference for shaving in your partner tbf. I prefer guys to shave. I never once asked this of any of my previous partners. One did it but it was his idea I never even mentioned it he literally turned up at my house and asked me to help him shave his balls. He didn't like it and never did it again lol.

I don't like getting hair in my mouth at all. I had an accident when I was 14 falling from a horse I was riding. And got a mouthful of this hair like substance that stopped the sand being kicked up. It makes me think of that and I can quite enjoy giving head so its a bit of an annoyance, however not one I'd ever use as an excuse to get someone to do it.

It doesn't bother me if a man doesn't want random hairs in his mouth.

I'll bet all of you twenty quid that this is the most in depth comment on pubes you've ever read in your life.

Lovemusic33 · 15/02/2018 20:17

Just to put thoughts straight that think I want to do it to please men, I don’t, i prefer to be hairless of almost hairless, I originally tried it for a partner and shaved every week but then stopped, my hair grew back thicker and now I struggle to get it to look neat, every time I attempt to shave now I get ingrown hairs and several have turned into nasty boils which have been very painful. I would like to be hairless as I prefer it and I find sex without hair is better. My pain threshold isn’t great and I don’t want to go and get it waxed profetionaly (I’m shy) so I have ordered a hot waxing kit to try. If it’s too tricky I will look at the Philips ipl.

Thank you all for your advice.

Lovemusic33 · 15/02/2018 20:19

And my FWB has not said he likes me shaved, he is trimmed but I actually prefer men with hair.

StickThatInYourPipe · 15/02/2018 21:25

I’m under 30 and although I prefer sex when I am hairless (i use veet haha) I can’t be arsed most of the time. I probably have a hairless vag about 3 weeks out of the year Blush
