Smooth/shaved

Was going to name change but couldn’t be bothered.

So apparently most women under 30 are hairless down there and apparently most men prefer women without hair.

I am single but dating and having NSA sex. I would love to be smooth down there but whenever I shave I end up with small boils where the hair grows back or I get really sore which sometimes resaults in thrush. I am petrified ath the thought of waxing but is it the only way?

Gwen...span of late 20s to early 40s. Can't recall exactly who was and wasn't but I do know one in the 40s def was!

I'm 47 , had 4 dc and really wish I had the confidence to get it all waxed professionally .
Probably scare the poor lady off having dc for life ... but I guess we're all different and she prob wouldn't give a monkeys what u look like right 🐒
Do many middle aged women actually go ? It would certainly save me some time and be a lot neater .

Yes. No beautician will be bothered and I'm sure you don't have anything to worry about...don't do yourself down. I was nervous first time I tried, as even though I had been going to the same beautician for several years, I had only ever had my bikini line done wearing an old pair of knix. I am sure all beauticians are the same, but they do this day in and out lol and mine is so matter of fact, chatting away as we would normally do with any treatment and she is really quick. Is a routine part of my visit now and I wouldn't go back to the razor. Give it a go, but if worried about the pain, use a solvable painkiller like I did. Give it a go and at least if not for you, you've tried!

I have shaved occasionally and what I found is the first shave is totally fine but maintenance results in ingrown hairs which lead to spots and it's all grim. A Philips Lumea has changed my life. I don't go totally hairless all the time but I could if I want to, though it's a longish term thing to achieve that as it would take a few months. But you'd only have to shave once every couple of weeks in the build up period and once a month thereafter. Plus once you get to the once a month stage, the hairs are so fine and sparse it's no real trouble at all. I do my legs, slight moustache and armpits all year round and it is very very effective and not painful (well, a bit but nowhere near waxing, not even on my face). Plus it's not permanent so any time you don't want to do it any more you just stop and it will eventually grow back.

I don't bother with my pubic area now, just trim short as it's all fairly self-contained and I don't have bikini line issues. But I did try a landing strip it at the beginning to see how it went and it was quite simple and worked really well. Stopped after that as I wanted some bush.

You do have to have dark hair for it to work properly, though.

I’m a beauty therapist & definitely advise you having a bikini wax done in a salon especially if you have never waxed before.
You need to use a pre wax lotion, pre wax oil & after wax lotion to prevent any infection afterwards.
If you can find a salon that uses Lycon Pinkini Wax it hardly hurts at all. The prewax oil stops the wax sticking to the skin & is easily removed. You need to be pulling firmly in the right direction & stretching the skin.
There are also after care products you can apply to help avoid ingrown hairs. Most salons will have them for you to purchase.

Try putting sudocreme on straight after you've shaved, and for a couple of days after, I've found it made a huge difference

Try the hair remover creams again, they used to bring me out in a rash when I was younger so I stayed clear for years. I started using them again a few years ago and their much better now.
I recommend a towel to lie on, a mirror for carefully placed application and lots of kitchen towel for wiping off the spatula (and glasses if your blind as a bat like me)

Although to some degree it is personal preference, the fact is that nearly all of us had a near full bush 15 -20 years ago, but now most people shave.

I am not sure whether it is porn or the cosmetics industry, but I think women feel a pressure to conform, so that they be sold the products.
