So, when I have an orgasm...

... I see colours, patterns and shapes. Having never spoken about this to anybody before, I assumed it was a completely normal part of the experience.

I mentioned it to my DH in bed the after night (after a particularly vibrant orgasm in purples and silver, in the shape of leaves) and he tells me that he has no idea what I'm talking about. I assume it's a woman thing, so I ask my sister, and.... nope. Definitely not. Just me.

Is there anyone else out there that has this?? It's different every time... the first time I ever had an orgasm it was literally like seeing the night sky, like being catapulted into the stars, it was amazing! Sometimes I see waves in green and blue, sometimes it's white or yellow and very intense - this all seemed SO normal to me up until right now!!

Is there anybody out there who can make me feel less weird about this?? Feeling like a total nutter.

BitOfFun · 16/07/2015 16:58

Sex topic?

GreenMouse · 16/07/2015 16:59

Yes I get that too, I didn't realise not everyone does!

AnyFucker · 16/07/2015 16:59

that sounds like synesthesia

google it

lucky you (I think)

CharleyDavidson · 16/07/2015 16:59

Not everyone can access the sex topic, but I agree that this belongs there.

MissFruits · 16/07/2015 17:00

Sounds amazing! But I have never heard of or experienced this before

LittleMissIntrovert · 16/07/2015 17:03

Never heard of it, but it sounds amazing!

Rhubarbgarden · 16/07/2015 17:03

I want what you're on.

A family member has synesthesia. I haven't probed and have no intention of (!) as to more intimate experiences but certainly in day to day life she sees all noise as colours and I think it's quite exhausting. I do it to an extent but not as much as her.

luckiestgirlintheworld · 16/07/2015 17:07

Nope, nothing like that for me.

LeChien · 16/07/2015 17:08

So a bit like this but with sex instead of food?

LaurieJuspeczyk · 16/07/2015 17:08

I've heard of people seeing colours/patterns like the ones you get in front of your eyes when you close them, but it sounds like you're describing something else. (Also I'm giggling a bit imagining the conversation with your husband, sorry Grin)

phoenixrose314 · 16/07/2015 17:10

Sorry didn't know there WAS a sex topic! Plus it's not weird or kinky or anything... just curious really. But there's one other person who knows what I'm on about! Hurrah! Although I'm guessing you're now equally freaked that you're one of the minority!

I don't have synaesthesia in any other way, though, I don't "feel" colours about letters or numbers or noises, AT ALL. Very specific to this one activity. How peculiar.

Yes I think my DH now thinks I'm absolutely crackers.

Maybe I am... Confused

is your husband chuffed he can literally make you see stars ? Grin

silverglitterpisser · 16/07/2015 17:13

I have had this, not every time tho. Usually if things r off the scale amazing. I like it a lot Grin .

AnyFucker · 16/07/2015 17:15

I get silver zig zaggy lines in my eyes

But those are just my ocular migraines < deflated >

MagicalHamSandwich · 16/07/2015 17:18

No, and I've never heard about it from anyone else either. Sounds amazing, though, I quite envy you!

JeanneDeMontbaston · 16/07/2015 17:20

It's not synaesthesia, is it? (I can't spell that). It's the same effect you get when you have been running hard and close your eyes - you can see patterns and colours from the blood flowing around your eyelids, and the light outside?

(No idea if that is actually science, but it's what it looks like).

Or not?

Ahemily · 16/07/2015 17:21

Sounds amazing! (Definitely not jealous)

OneLittleLady · 16/07/2015 17:22

it does sound like synesthesia. i have it with music, noises, all sounds really. it's exhausting sometimes and beautiful and intriguing others. it might not be but it sounds similar at least

phoenixrose314 · 16/07/2015 17:24

No no, it's not the light behind the eyes thing, at all, it's almost like dreaming whilst awake? I think is the best I can describe it, I just see things and it's always when things are really intense - it doesn't happen every time.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 16/07/2015 17:25

I think I know what you mean. Only when it's REALLY REALLY good though (v rare). Sometimes I get visualisations (almost like little bits of film) that repeat as well.

moooolah · 16/07/2015 17:28
