The Kent test is always so weird. Out of 30 children scoring full marks aka 423 28 were out of county. It is always heavily weighted towards out of county children in the highest scores 410 and above typically. But there are not that many scoring that high. Most will have gotten QE, will get St Olave’s, many may also be top 180 Bexley, some also did Sutton test, some live even further away or also did Shepway or Medway. And parents can only put 1 school first.
Once you are through stage 1 St Olave’s you have a high chance of progressing further, just like HBS. It is a small intake at under 130 but a kid who gets either top 180 in Bexley or well over 400 in Kent typically stands a very very good chance. There is no such thing as “narrowly” passing, on and around the pass marks there are typically a lot of children on the bell curve.
