Not sure if anyone is around yet but thought I’d open one.

Has anyone started any practice questions yet? Mine will be starting tutoring in September, she’s had an assessment to see where she’s at currently and now just enjoying the sunshine ☀️

Does anyone know what time?! I feel sick…

Sunnyhotday · 22/09/2026 09:21

Probably after 4ish

Chesseagle · 22/09/2026 09:30

I think it will be some time around 8ish. That’s when the parents seem to have received results last year (for boys). Girls were slightly earlier. Very nerve wracking

Sunnyhotday · 22/09/2026 09:33

I have read one post on Facebook that some boys have started receiving the result. Not sure whether to believe it or not.

I've created a thread to discuss the Sutton results. Last year's thread was so helpful!

Well done to all and good luck to those who are going for Round 2!

Anyone here sat the Kent Test? Can’t believe it’s almost 2 weeks since they did it!

We are 😐 but I’m not too sure how it’ll go as, unfortunately, we’ve had major illnesses and surgeries (not dc but close relative; has had huge impact and zero work in preparation for exam).
I’ve checked letter and can’t tell what it’ll be like, only gives the time for both multiple choice and written answer papers with zero indication on how many questions per paper.

May I join? We are prepping with a Year 5 DD, aiming for Sutton grammars and local private schools as a back up. Doing 1,5 hours a week group tuition (+homework) and started on Atom a week ago but not sure I will continue with Atom - DD doesn't really do much on it and it's quite expensive for 10mins a day she spends on it at the moment...

Hello! we are Y6 with DS, so a year ahead but just wanted to comment on Atom. It’s been the biggest waste of money for us over the last 12 months. DS has barely used it, and I’ve realised the practice tests on there don’t stretch them enough for the Sutton Entrance exams.

examberry or exampapersplus, as well as the schools own run mock are much much better preparation as closer to the real thing. And it really helps them practising on physical paper.
I wish I had cancelled Atom a year ago - this is just my experience, others may have a more positive one!

trying29 · 24/09/2026 19:30

couldnt agree more - we are another year ahead (son in yr 7 just started at Wallington). School mocks were the absolute best for stage 1 - exam berry and exam paper plus for all other prep. we didnt use a tutor, self taught and they were the most accurate for the actual test

It’s a long wait, isn’t it? I’m guessing the headteachers will be receiving results fairly soon, ready for HT appeals

I thought they only found out like the day before but maybe you are right. Not too much longer now then it’ll all be over either way. Best of luck

11plus2026 · 25/09/2026 09:13

@karmi2010 Welcome! Atom might work well for independents that use computer based tests, but probably not so for grammars. If you’re aiming for the latter then I’d probably pause Atom for now and go back to it a couple of weeks before taking tests for private.

It's tomorrow for DD (GL in Wiltshire) and yesterday she started with a streaming cold and sore throat. She seems better today after an early night so I'm crossing everything for tomorrow. We have a strong backup school but after going off the idea for a while she's keen on the grammar again. I couldn't call it from here, she's got the ability in there for a decent pass, but there are too many other variables when you're dealing with a sometimes scatty ten year old in a formal exam situation! Anyone else left still to sit?

flarp · 25/09/2026 15:49

Anyone sat for Colyton? How did they find it?
