Bromley waiting list

Hi

Looking for experiences on the Bromley waiting lists, they have said they won’t tell us our position, nor will they start offering places until mid-April. Anyone have any experience of this? Do they really wait that long or is it just a ruse to stop you calling them at the start?

I know other London boroughs where they have already been told their position on the list.

thanks!

I would say you have a chance with Hayes. Where did you get offered?

Hi

We are on the waiting list number : 47 for Langley boys and 15 for Hayes any chance of getting a place ?

I would say you have a chance with Hayes but they rarely have people turn down places and Harris you are very far down the list. Where did you get offered?

Oh that's a shame. It's such a good school, we was trying to get in there last year but was really hard,a few of my sons friends are doing great there.

Hi @Elim81 I thought so...
We are on position 6 for Bullers and position 4 for Ravens Wood.

DS prefers Langley where most of his friends will be going.

DS is into music (Guitar), do you know which among Hayes, Bullers and Ravens Wood suits him ?

Not heard good things about Ravenswood but Bullers is good all round as far as I know and for music, I'm sure people have different experiences. I know Ravensbourne does guitar lessons.

@Elim81 thanks for the feedback

Don’t know of anyone actively trying to get into Bishop! Out of, maybe…. We were 6th for Bullers Girls at the start of the waiting list process and got an offer by May half term, having initially been offered Bishop. We were 80-something for Langley Girls and got nowhere, similar with Chislehurst. I would think position 6 for Bullers at the moment has a very good chance of an offer.

@Elim81 thanks for the feedback

all Bromley schools have instrument lessons that you can pay for separately via BYMT. My children are all learning instruments at their respective schools.

Hi @mugboat thank you, yes at present my son attends classes at school via BYMT. I was checking if any schools in Bromley focuses more on music compared to other schools...

Lkt32 · 08/04/2026 11:54

I emailed first thing yesterday and we're 6th place for Bullers Wood Girls.

I'm hoping that's quite likely to get a place.
62nd for chislehurst girls (forgetting that one)

I was really responding to the person who replied to you to say their son was having guitar lessons. I.e. this is no biggie as all Bromley schools offer music tuition :)

Bullers has a better rep than Chislehurst Girls. Fingers crossed for you! I think you'll get a spot.
My daughter got in on a waiting list place at Bullers. We were 16th.

Ravenswood is very good for music. It's less talked about than the sport but has lots of groups. They have some sort of programme for talented musicians in the 6th Form.
Even if your son doesn't want to do music at GCSE or ALevel the focus means that there is something for the more casual players.

Hi @LostMySocks

Thank you.

My son got offered in Ravenswood yesterday, this was our last preference.

We are on waiting list for Hayes : 15 and Bullers Wood: 6, Langley: 47

My son is at Ravens Wood now in year 10 if you have any questions. There are lots of bands and ensembles for music and the standard BYMT teachers coming in.
We found when we were on waiting list for LPSB we started off at 50 and actually moved down the list - presumably people moving into the area? We ended up at 100 and something!
I am afraid I do not have any experience of the Hayes waiting list but the Bullers ones normally have quite a bit of movement and I would say at 6 you have a good chance of a place in one of the shakedowns.

SydneyCarton · 09/04/2026 20:30

@Lkt32 Wow, that was quick! We were 6th for Bullers Girls this time last year but didn’t get an offer until May half term. We were in a similar position for Chislehurst as well.

My son is on Waiting list number : 1 for Bullers Boys since last Friday, Council said the school is full, what does that mean ? Will there be no movement further ?

I think you'll get a place. I was 16th on the list for Bullers Girls and got a place in June. I think you'll get an email offering a place this month!
