Bromley waiting list

Hi

Looking for experiences on the Bromley waiting lists, they have said they won’t tell us our position, nor will they start offering places until mid-April. Anyone have any experience of this? Do they really wait that long or is it just a ruse to stop you calling them at the start?

I know other London boroughs where they have already been told their position on the list.

Hi , sorry to jump on this post , my son currently is 6th on Ravenswood waiting list and 56 on Darrick wood , he’s moved a lot since April on the Ravenswood list , is it likely he will be offered a place at one of these before September or does movement slow down a lot now on the lists ? Thank you 🙏

Hey Pinkfox I would say on past experience really good chance of getting Ravens Wood before September. Lots of movement still up to mid July and 6 is really high. No idea about DW I'm afraid.

DS has just given up a Ravenswood place as he was offered a different school.
Everything is moving as Judd reallocated many more places than usual. It's just taking a while to trickle down via the grammars to the comps.

Was he not offered a school at all or did you turn down the offer as the school was completely unsuitable

he was offered Kemnal technology college , he has Tourette’s and other SEN needs and I didn’t feel Kemnal could meet them , plus I know quite a few people with terrible experiences there , my plan was/ is to just keep him at home until a suitable school comes available. I have an appeal hearing in a couple of weeks for Darrick , but I am happy to keep him at home if it comes to it as that was my plan anyway , just feel bad for him seeing all his mates excited and knowing where they are going ! Xx

6th I would say is highly likely he will get an offer soon. Mine was within 2 weeks so fingers crossed you will get an offer soon.

Hey, we are similar to you - a few spaces behind on the Ravens Wood wait list, but 20th for Darrick Wood. Have you had any update on your position yet? The uncertainty over whether there will be any more movement on the lists is so hard to deal with!

Hiya, it’s so frustrating isn’t it as I’ve seen yesterday the induction days seem to be beginning of July so would have been nice to have one before then! I know someone who has just turned down Ravenswood offer as they were offered their first choice a month ago so I’m guessing I’m around 4th now , Ravenswood list seems to move really quickly ! Problem is my son seems to want Darrick wood more than Ravenswood but I can’t see that happening we are just so far on the list, I’d definitely be happy with RW for him though ! Do you have a preference on what one you get? If I hear any updates I will let you know :)

My son is desperate for RW! Most of his friends are going there and he would love to join them. I'm keeping everything crossed that the list keeps moving quickly. I will also let you know if I have any more updates. I only called Bromley Admissions last week, so need to resist calling them again for another couple of weeks 😆

Haha I’m the same with ringing the admissions team don’t worry 😂 , I think I preferred RW to Darrick at the open day tbh , And my son has a couple of close friends going there so I’m really surprised he’s after DW so much I think it’s where it’s mixed , RW on their website have a really good section on the year 6 transition with loads of information I was looking at it all last night , I feel like if your not much behind us on list you should get it before sept from what I’ve heard from anyone I’ve asked about movement before then! X

We turned down my son's RW place over a week ago but Bromley have told them yet. Apparently offers are shared in batches so looks like there is a other update due.
