Good luck to everyone this week! I know my nerves are really starting to kick in but I’m trying to maintain a very calm demeanour in front of DD as she asked me at the weekend if we would be sad if she only got offers from her ‘back up’ schools. That question made me more sad that she would think about how we would feel instead of herself and I’ve now provided constant reassurance that there’s no such thing as a back up option and they are ALL good schools which any child would be happy to attend. Hoping all of your DC get the outcome they desire!

@Igotafeeling , the secondary schools sending results on the 9th will still be finalising their lists, they have to be signed off by the top layer of governance before they can collate the responses to parents so they won't have let the primary schools know yet. The head may have been prompted to ask because other girls schools sent out offers last week.

Completely agree.
It is rather tricky not to (try to) read into comments / looks / gestures, however innocent or neutral.
I think that heads are informed just the day before and very much asking the heads of prep / primary to keep results under wrap.

Justarrivedlondon · 05/02/2024 17:42

My son's prep head told us last year (when he sat the 11+) that the senior schools emailed them the results at least one day before the results were sent out to parents. So the prep knows exactly who got offers. He didn't say whether they were informed of those on waitlists.

Radnor/Kneller offers out now - I am pleasantly surprised to see my DD got an offer considering the limited places and competition. Hope other potential Radnor parents on this thread had good news too 🤞

We had a yes from Radnor too. Phew! Though my child already has a sibling there so less unexpected!

Elated 💃💃💃 over the moon

We have bagged another scholarship offer from Sydenham high. Which was our preferred choice.

Two offers from Croydon high and Sydenham high. Waiting for one more from JAGS but now I can SLEEP at night !!

Just now to decide between both CHS and SHS. My DD and I prefer Sydenham but Croydon seems more academic.

It's been totally nerve wracking

QuiteAJourney · 05/02/2024 18:10

Congrats to those with offers from Radnor and Sydeham High.. a great start of the week!!

farfallarocks · 05/02/2024 18:13

Congrats all this is great news!

travelturtle · 05/02/2024 18:50

Yes Radnor offer here too. Much relief. Well done to @KatyScarlett and @Lizardlegs too. We need to give it some thought depending on what happens on Friday

Vetiver444 · 05/02/2024 18:59

@travelturtle @Lizardlegs @KatyScarlett Another Radnor offer here too! So very relieved. I wonder if they’ll do an offer holder day - on initial glance I couldn’t see any mention in the email

Flimpychunk · 05/02/2024 19:43

Congratulations all those with offers, it’s great news!

Lizardlegs · 05/02/2024 20:54

@Vetiver444 @KatyScarlett @travelturtle congrats to your DCs as well! 👏👏👏 there was nothing about an offer day in the email but there is something on the website about it (no date though) - I am plan to email them tomorrow about it.

Laura71 · 05/02/2024 21:02

We got Sydenham High offer and very happy as it was DD’s first choice.
What a relief and glad to see the back of 11 plus! It’s been a long and tiring journey but we got there in the end. Phew.
Best of luck to you all!

Anyone awaiting Hampton 11+? Or Epsom? What do you think the number of offers will Be? Ahhhh it’s tough waiting. Assuming they offer to all those called back for academic (35 ish they say in their literature for Hampton).

travelturtle · 06/02/2024 06:40

@lolo99 yes waiting for Hampton 11+. Believe they have 165 places, out of which has to come 25 from prep and 45 from 10+. And I guess also reasonable to assume the 35 called back for academic though there will def be some overlap there with the 10+ and prep places as many/most of them sit again for scholarship too I think.

Bewler · 06/02/2024 07:24

@lolo99 epsom offers comimg today 🤞🏻

Summerma · 06/02/2024 07:34

Congrats to those who received offers yesterday and good luck to those awaiting results today. One day closer to Friday…

lolo99 · 06/02/2024 07:44

Bewler · 06/02/2024 07:24

@lolo99 epsom offers comimg today 🤞🏻

Ooh how do you know? They said from the 5th.

Bewler · 06/02/2024 07:56

@lolo99 so my source says 😉

FlyingPandas · 06/02/2024 08:51

@lolo99 we are waiting for Hampton 11+ too.

I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers, or about the scholarship candidates or 10+ etc - all DC sit multiple schools, all schools will over-offer, we'll never know exact numbers but with Hampton, so many will turn down offers if they get Kings/St Pauls/Westminster (the schools generally seen as the most desirable for boys) or the more urban, cool-vibe co-eds such as LU or KGS. Lots of London families will opt for those other schools over Hampton which, much as I love it (we have a DC there already and it's an amazing school) has very much a suburban feel. And that's before you even consider that many will wait for state school offer day and then potentially go for Tiffin or a Sutton grammar over an indie if their DC gets a place. There is so much overlap between schools and candidates, even if the numbers seem scary!

Good luck to anyone waiting for offers due out today, sending positive vibes for good news for all.

swlondon24 · 06/02/2024 08:58

Epsom did come on the Tuesday in previous years but I believe usually only around 5:30/6PM, so no need to keep hitting the refresh button just yet I think. Good luck all! Nice to see offers coming in.

79abbot · 06/02/2024 09:48

Last year, we received a no from Epsom on Wednesday, 8th February. The email was sent around lunchtime.

abbmum · 06/02/2024 09:54

SCHS results are now out, nice and prompt.

minipie · 06/02/2024 12:42

Yes we had two SCHS emails and a letter! Covering all bases 😁

farfallarocks · 06/02/2024 13:04

Congrats to all with SCHS offers! Are Epsom out? Hoping St John’s might be early too but doubt it. Emanuel says by Friday 9th so maybe that will be early too.
Im a bit distracted at work to say the least. Ridiculous behaviour I know! Luckily dd totally relaxed and seems to have forgotten all about it
