Trinity & Whitgift 10+/11+ exams 2024 entry

Hi everyone,

I'm starting a new thread for those with children who are sitting for the 10+ Trinity and Whitgift exams this year.

I've been lurking for years reading through the 10+ and 11+ past threads, silently sharing in the anxiety, pain and joy of those parents that have come before me 😅.

I can't believe that the time is now here for my DS to sit the 10+ exams.

Are there any other parents that would like to jump on board this thread so we can support each other through the next few months?

@F1okoboji yes. How did your ds find it. Mine said maths was OK but not so sure on the English. Bit worried as English is normally his stronger one

The last email that I received said that interview invitations would be emailed from Tuesday 9th January and boys who have not been selected for interview will be advised by email as soon as possible in early January.

@SunshineandRainbowMum , that's very short notice for interviews on the 13th. Presumably they will just issue the slots and we have to make it work somehow.

And does anyone know when we can expect Trinity interviews / scholarship assessments? Likewise, would be good to plan but I'm not aware of any possible dates...

Ps. Just saw on their site that sport assessments are on the 16th. No dates for interviews yet.

I think the music scholarship assessments are from 15th January onwards. DS sat the 10+ music scholarship audition, his slot was on the first day, so I guess, 15th or 16th.

I thought it was after the 11th Jan for Trinity 11+ interview/scholarship invites?

Yes, he sat for both Trinity and Whitgift 10+, he did not get offered an interview for Trinity. Whitgift is his preference though and so we are keeping fingers crossed.

Does anyone know how many boys sat the Whitgift 10+ how many places are available at 10+?

My DS also took Trinity & Whitgift tests, he was unsuccessful for Trinity and so hoping for a better outcome for Whitgift.

I am not sure how many boys sat the test and I honestly can't remember how many spaces are available, but I believe it is more than Trinity as they are a bigger school.

Maybe someone else will have more info.

Well done to those who got through to the next stage. Has anyone heard from Whitgift 10+ with regard to the music scholarship application?

We've heard back on the 11+ today, and have an interview. Now, of course, we are wondering how many kids get offered a place who get an interview. Hopefully a high amount, if anyone knows?

Also, I wonder if there's any hints in the interview email as to how well he has done? Ours states "has performed well enough to be invited for interview".

I believe everyone gets the same email. The wording on 10+ emails was exactly the same and the same for everyone. I don't think they would want to commit themselves or comment on individual performances at this stage. Anyone got any dates from Trinity for further 10+ steps by the way?
