Trinity & Whitgift 10+/11+ exams 2024 entry

Hi everyone,

I'm starting a new thread for those with children who are sitting for the 10+ Trinity and Whitgift exams this year.

I've been lurking for years reading through the 10+ and 11+ past threads, silently sharing in the anxiety, pain and joy of those parents that have come before me 😅.

I can't believe that the time is now here for my DS to sit the 10+ exams.

Are there any other parents that would like to jump on board this thread so we can support each other through the next few months?

It is really hard for parents and children. I would say though don't loose hope. We have just emailed to say we are waiting on confirmation of our grammar school place on Monday and I would think many others are too so they may be great movement on this front. I know many parents holding onto 4 or 5 offers still.

Was this related to Trinity 10+ waiting list only or would it be applicable to 11+ Whitgift wait list too?

11+ waitlists move more than 10+ ones because some children will get grammar school offers or will have applied to multiple schools and accepted a different one. It's impossible to guess how many will choose "your" particular school though.

Hi - Can I ask for those not picking Trinity School for 11+ why you have decided to not pick it? My son was given a place there and can't decide between Trinity or the other school.

We have accepted a spot at Trinity 11+ for our son. Is there any chats for parents / children who has a confirmed spot. I see there is one for 10+. Also just wondering I have googled about the bus offering for transport but can't find costs. Has anyone found that and can share a link? (Please)

@NKM7 trinity school bus is currently £409 per term for mornings only - my DS don't get the bus home, so I don't know whether it's the same again for the afternoons.

They have lots of routes and so your DS should be able to get on fairly near your house. They change the stops every year a bit depending on who is using the bus. For years mine were picked up right outside our front door!

that super helpful I just needed a guide of sorts regarding costs - This works perfectly. I'm not sure if he will do the home route (like there is an option)but figured i would book for first term while he makes some new friends at the school. - thank you

BoysSons Thankyou for your message do you also have any information for 11+ Whitgift group starting year7. We have decided to go ahead with Whitgift School.

We are also going with Whitgift for 11+! Accepted place on Friday first thing and paid deposit but haven’t had any confirmation email back. I know a current Whitgift mum and she says there are usually WhatsApp groups for each year and for tutor groups to so hopefully we’ll hear something about it soon.

I don't know about W, but at T there was a "new boys morning" in around June, where all the new boys come in for a morning on a Saturday, and meet their form tutor and the other boys in their class. Parents also come along and have a talk from the HM, and then go and meet the form tutor as well, and it was then that we were all able to swap phone numbers and set up WhatsApp groups.

I'm sure there will be something similar at W.

Hi @NKM7 we received our Trinity place in the first round but had been holding off our decision making until the state offers came through. Although late in the game, we’re accepting Trinity for Year 7. We have an older boy there already and can really say it’s a wonderful school, amazing pastoral support, lovely families and so many opportunities for the boys. Happy to be in touch. Can’t believe this rollercoaster of 11+ is finally coming to an end, but also grateful to this group and hearing people’s stories along the way.

anyone on the wait list received offer from whitgift for 11+?

Whitgift has gone out to Waitlist today. We had a call earlier today.

Have you been given any indication before about your wait list position? Were you at the top range in the wait list? Just trying to find out our chances of getting offer. Thanks.

Good luck @kyunak and others on waiting lists. The acceptance deadlines have passed now so probably the majority of movement will have already happened... but apparently sometimes movement happens much later and even in the summer time
