WELCOME TO PART 3!!

Previously

PART 1 started by Oceane11plus in July 2020 for the SW London Girl’s 11+ 2021 cohort (pandemic year).
PART 2 continued the journey (exam pandemic panic).

Both Part 1 & 2 quickly reached the MN quota of 1000 posts!

Will PART 3 be our final episode? Keep supportively posting as we make our final decisions on offers, WL movement & starting Year 7 (hopefully post-pandemic)...

Yay!! Excitedly marking my place. Thanks @MumsRule20 for starting this thread

southwestlondonmum · 26/02/2021 14:47

Yes thank you @MumsRule20 for part 3! Fingers crossed that the WLs will start to move soon! Let's hope it will be lucky and happy finish for all our DDs!

Stircrazyschoolmum · 26/02/2021 15:18

Whoop whoop!

Cheering on all those waiting for grammar places on Monday and holding tight to those on the waiting lists.. hoping this thread is full of positivity and concerns shift to school uniforms and commutes!

Tr0ubled · 26/02/2021 15:23

Marking my place here too!

@Stircrazyschoolmum do all the state school places come out in Monday?

MumsRule20 · 26/02/2021 15:26

Hello, @WarmAndco3y and @southwestlondonmum Glad you made it over and love that we have all travelled this road together the last few months and lots of new names recently popping up to say how supportive they have been finding all our chat. Be interesting to see how next week turns out for many.

@Flossitea Sorry, my announcement on Part 2 interrupted your helpful recommendation re: uniform supplier sale for LEH (I corrected the company name for you). So, I have copied it in here:

Just had an email from SchoolBlazer (uniform supplier) saying they’re doing a 30% off sale on blazers, trousers and skirts starting next Monday. We’re going to LEH which sells uniform through SchoolBlazer so I will be stocking up! Thought I’d let you all know in case you’re LEH-bound, or your school uses SchoolBlazer

Hopefully, this proves useful to those who decided on LEH and any other schools they supply to :)

@Tr0ubled oops sorry, missed your post sent as I was posting the above. Hello!

Whoop we’ve had some great insight into first choice school feeling very positive today.

Stircrazyschoolmum · 26/02/2021 15:33

@Tr0ubled its national offers day so yes.. I believe so. Most frustratingly London's don't tend to come out until 17.00 (sometimes a little earlier) so the admissions team won't get to work on any declines until Tuesday I imagine.

MumsRule20 · 26/02/2021 16:29

@Stircrazyschoolmum Hello! Missed yours too! Thanks for prompt earlier today and all your boosting Star

LEH what’s up group going??

stellagibbons · 26/02/2021 17:04

Hello everyone - can't believe we are on our third thread! Thanks for starting @MumsRule20

We've got an online offer holders event at our first choice tomorrow, then just going to wait for state offers on the off chance we think we're making a massive mistake when we see our allocation, then accept on Tuesday I think.

Gah - School Blazer does our first choice's uniform, but when I was looking it was all a bit odd and I couldn't even check prices without registering, and to do that I needed things like DD's house, which I assume we won't know for ages! Good to know they do do sales though!!

MumsRule20 · 26/02/2021 17:09

@stellagibbons @Flossitea I just checked the uniform site as above and also noticed they stock for all these schools mentioned on our thread and many others across London / UK:

CLSG
FHHS
Emanuel
Woldingham
Alleyn’s
LEH
PHS
WHS
JAGS

But sadly like you say, one needs to already be registered at the school to take advantage of the upcoming sale :( Not sure how long it lasts for and if it gives time for those accepting by week to take advantage of the offer.

@stellagibbons how is DD finding choosing her objects for tomorrow?! DD is not overly impressed.. “mum, I thought assessments were over” !!

(As a parent I thought it was an innovative approach to a student session!)

SecondaryCalling · 26/02/2021 17:25

Hello. I've also been lurking on this thread. My daughter is also off to LEH, nice to see several others are too.

stellagibbons · 26/02/2021 17:26

@Stircrazyschoolmum she's given it very little thought and picked the first things she could think of! I have suggested she maybe thinks about it a little more, but she was having none of that! I'm hoping that the groups will be reasonably large so she's not going to get picked on!

Flossietea · 26/02/2021 17:42

You can register for SchoolBlazer without registering with a school. You just have to assign a school to your child so that you can see uniform specific to that school.

MumsRule20 · 26/02/2021 17:50

@Flossietea Yay!! That is great to know. Thanks so much for heads up.

SecondaryCalling · 26/02/2021 17:52

Yes thanks Flossietea, registered and waiting for the sale!

MumsRule20 · 26/02/2021 17:52

@Flossietea I say that and yet haven’t even decided on a school yet!! Got too excited based on a uniform sale and living through everyone else’s school offers and choices. Blush

LittleBlackBear · 26/02/2021 19:40

What objects?! If I’m thinking about the same school we’ve not had any info from them about objects Confused

pamplemoussed · 26/02/2021 20:16

I have 2 girls at LEH . Do NOT buy the blazer - they never wear them .. Smile

Flossietea · 26/02/2021 21:28

@pamplemoussed you are not the first person who has said this to me! Can they really get away with not having one at all? I would love to not spend £70 on one if I don’t have to! It seems like a lot of the girls on the website are wearing them though. Will they get in trouble if they don’t have one? My daughter is a rule follower and she’ll be terrified of getting told off.

stuckasastuckthing · 26/02/2021 21:39

Does anyone have a uniform list for LEH - can't find it on the website? That will probably say whether blazer is optional or compulsory.

Flossietea · 26/02/2021 22:53

The uniform list is on the SchoolBlazer website after you register. It says the blazer is compulsory but I’ve heard from several parents that their DD never wear them.

pamplemoussed · 26/02/2021 23:47

One daughter has worn it once ( at an optional event) other has never ever worn it. Really - don’t buy it!
