buffy we have been told to rest but also pace - so exercise in moderation to build up, don't overdo it when you're having a good day, good sleep routines. If you have ideas that might help please do let me know - I'm open to pm. I'm also asking DD2 to contact my late H's cousin, who also has fibro and lives a full and happy life with it. However, I don't want to pressure her - she's 2 days into knowing this and needs time to process.

Iambuffy · 06/07/2019 19:44

I thought my life was over. Honestly.
(Dramatic)
But I'd had to leave my job and was very low.
But...one step at a time...I had a few months then went pt...
It's a hard thing to take at any age but shes so young.
Lots of love to you both x

Ds had his first drivers lesson today :)

I feel very old

Iambuffy DD1 regularly drives DD2 around and about now, odd to see them disappearing off down the road together. Always have that little flutter of concern. Silly really, but I can't help it.

Foslady · 08/07/2019 13:54

Need to vent/calm down!
Have been asking dd to sort out her room/study/old uniform and has she done it - no.
Everywhere is a shit tip, she’s disappeared on NCS wk 2, and whilst I was at work announced that the key she said she’d find hasn’t turned up. I have a mountain of jobs to do every evening this week including time sensitive stuff and now I have to find this blasted key - and to complicate matters ‘I think I saw it last in the house’.
We’re away in three weeks time - she can pay for a bloody locksmith if it doesn’t turn up.
Neither shower is working, the kitchen ceiling needs repainting because of said shower, I have 2 hours to make up at work, home stuff and now this.
I want to cry

Foslady · 08/07/2019 14:11

Oh, and I can’t even go for a walk either at lunchtime or in an entire calm down as I have something of value in the house and i’m scared stiff that the key has been lost out of the house so am having to bring it with me to work in my handbag and have it with me at all times.
I don’t think she realises just what a PITA this is for me

Foslady · 08/07/2019 14:11

Entire? Evening to

Iambuffy · 08/07/2019 15:46

Oh fos :(
That would send me over the edge I think.
Ds1 is not really being annoying as such but he's not really doing anything unless asked which means he's moping about the house which is driving me a bit mad...
Ds2 is tired. Endoftermitis.
Dh is being a twat no change there then
I have meetings and voluntary stuff this week and we are supposed to be going on holiday on saturday!
I haven't even written a list...
Sigh...

Oh Fos I totally get it- welcome to my world 😭
Dd lost her key yesterday. DH overseas with work with 2nd key. DS still on boys holiday and I had to lock her out because I have a hospital appt.she left in a mood because I wouldn’t give her mine!
I’m now running around like a blue ass fly as we go on holiday tomorrow.I'm totally fed up. When I questioned why her bed wasn’t made I was yelled at with “ you know I’ve had no life for the last 4 months” Shock I really had to hold my tongue!
Hope everything calms down for you! Sending you hugs x

Iambuffy · 08/07/2019 17:28

Ds has lost a £60 jacket that I'm very cross about.
He got really shirty when I was trying to get him to retrace his steps.
We had words!

Well, I'm breaking the pattern because I'm on a lovely term time holiday with my DDs. That's the joy of having your youngest finish GCSEs and the oldest her A levels...

Yesterday was really rough, DD2 was laid up in exhaustion most of the day having overdone it on prom day and then having had the journey. But today was a really good day so we went to the zoo and she has played some badminton.

Tomorrow will be a beach day, so a nice mix of the lazy and the active. Weather looks set fair for at least the next week. We're having a lovely time.

Foslady · 08/07/2019 18:27

I’ve found it!!!!!

Between the bed and the side of a completely covered bedside cabinet.

In the meantime her bed had been piled high with a three mound of crap to sort (and it’s a double bed!).

She has been warned no social media until it’s cleared and if she wants music to listen to it’s radio or cd’s only. And clothes she has to fully launder inc ironing, and anything not for wash has to be ironed before putting away, and everyone the bed has to go away to MY standards until she’s done.

She’s so grateful it’s been found so far none of this is an issue.......!

Foslady · 08/07/2019 18:28

And so glad @pointythings that you are missing the trend - have a fabulous holiday!

Foslady · 08/07/2019 18:30

Sorry - a three foot mound on her bed?

Iambuffy · 08/07/2019 20:08

Foslady · 08/07/2019 23:17

He looks good in that suit - very sharp dresser!

onaroll · 09/07/2019 17:08

Just had a catch up since the last time I came on ( last Thursday of the Exams ).
My Ds gave my Dd the gaming computer - set it all up with a new built desk. She's over the moon, we haven't seen much of her since.
All the piles of revision have disappeared from around the house . Now it's just the wait for results day - its getting closer.
I hope everyone gets results that enable the chosen next steps.
Prom photos on here are amazing - you see them as your child and then suddenly they are stood in front of you with all their finery looking so grown up.
Dd has a small pre prom party here in the end her and her 5 friends. ( it was only here as the only girl Dd Had my god-daughter round to do her make up - doesn't normally wear any.)
Her group Didn't have any post parties.
I'm waiting for end of term - now considering changing jobs as now my children are both post 16 education , working at school means I cant have cheaper non term holidays 😂.

Stunning onaroll love the long black dress. And very smart stepmum. I know what you mean about them suddenly looking so grown up. iIn my case, DS is now a good head taller than me, and I have to look up to him ?!?!, which is very disconcerting.

Foslady · 09/07/2019 22:20

Absolutely gorgeous @onaroll, was going to say how I loved the back then saw the front - I love it all!
And yes, very disconcerting to see our little ones now as young adults 😳

steppemum · 10/07/2019 09:50

Oh what a glamorous dress! lovely.

I actually love this stage, half child half adult. It is lovely to see them emerging into them selves.

ds has applied for lots fo jobs, but hasn't found anything, and has instead been hitting the gym.
sixth form induction days tomorrow, so hope that goes well.
