A new thread to avoid the doomsday scenario of running out of posts as envelopes are opened on Friday, waiting lists move (or don’t) and e-mails are opened on 1 March.

I too have come down with a bad cold! Must be some correlation Confused totally shattered. Now onto trying to get elder DD to work for gcse’s first one end of April..arghh.

Agreed though, they have all done brilliantly especially in the context of such bonkers numbers. I can’t help thinking where does it go from here with the odds heading that way..?

Well done everyone, especially those holding their nerve right up to the deadline- not easy. There is some overlap between schools but there is still great competition for these places and some dc who end up without an indie place after sitting the exams. The numbers were also probably up this year due to the high birth rate. Our dds have done us proud and I hope they’re all happy wherever they end up.

Still in shock but overjoyed!! Grin I will be releasing PHS this morning to all Putney hopefuls. Registrar at LU said there’s always a shake around even sometimes to the wire as late as summer.

Good for you Toomuch Grin Fantastic news! Was it Mrs Sutherland-Hawes who called you? She is the most lovely woman, she really is.

PHS won’t have cashed your cheque yet - you may get the deposit back?

Great news @Toomuchpressure169.
Mrs Sutherland-Hawes is lovely which really helps in this horrible process.

Thanks @greenleave, @1ndig0, @JugglingMadly - yes it was Cat the registrar who is indeed really lovely. I have an elder DC there and despite the size she knows every child’s name.

Good thinking re. deposit am asking now!

Any other news for those waiting - really hoping for those who are 🙏

@toomuchpressure169 brilliant news!!! Well done! No PHS news here though - must be further down waitlist. That is if they are offering the released places to someone else....hope so

@Bool Congrats!! Gosh what a long process.
Are you going to think it over before contacting KGS?
All schools are use to it, a friend pulled out of a KGS scholarship (not academic) in mid March last year - she lost her deposit but it was the right choice for dc as other school that came in with late offer was better fit.

Thanks everyone :-). Just released the KGS place which was super hard to do as well as we love that school. Luckily we didn’t have to pay the deposit and they were lovely about it which just makes it all harder. Hopefully someone else will now be made very happy.

Bool Many congrats to mini Bool. You must be so relieved!! Wine time! so glad it is all sorted out at the end. Just heard an offer from FH's WL. It seems that WLs are still moving - good luck to whoever is still waiting!!

It's a great situation to be in Bool, how did your DD take the news?

We haven't declined the Tiffin place yet because we are still in a state of indecision. DD is adamant she'll have the final say but struggling to choose.

Bool · 12/03/2019 16:23

@sweetnhappy1 mini Bool was super excited. I just think she wants something different to her brother honestly. Do you know now what you will choose? Have you paid your deposit?

Watching this thread with extreme interest as we will be in the same position next year and many of the schools mentioned are ones on our list. PHS our top choice by a mile, really hoping DD gets a place...

Sweetnhappy1 · 13/03/2019 19:54

@Bool I can understand her wanting to have a totally different experience to her brother, I'm sure she'll love it! We did put a deposit down because we were (and still are) undecided.
