ReservoirDogs Those results are fabulous! Tell your DC, Well done!

mmmz · 23/08/2018 06:34

No this thread will not last until lunchtime. not at this rate.

Cherryburn · 23/08/2018 06:34

Fantastic results reservoir!

Eve · 23/08/2018 06:35

Good luck everyone!

Oratory1 · 23/08/2018 06:42

Fantastic reservoir particularly in this year of change and volatility.

Just looked at edexcel IGCSE maths and looks like 75% for a 9 and 63 for an 8 can that be right - though paper was very hard ! Not getting my hopes up though.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 23/08/2018 06:42

Wow reservoir Star

Great start for the thread.

Dd is up and eating breakfast. She hasn't slept much. I've just suggested putting our phones away and playing board games until 9.30. Not sure if I'llbe able to stick to it Blush

qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/Support/Grade-boundaries/GCSE/1806-GCSE-9-1-Subject-Grade-Boundaries.pdf for anyone who wants a fast link to the edexcel 9-1 gcse grade boundaries

Cherryburn · 23/08/2018 06:46

Oratory looks like that’s right. Yes, DS said papers were really hard, but even so I’m surprised the GBs are that low when the A* boundary was usually around 80 on the old spec. Guess it’s the ‘new spec’ effect?

JufusMum · 23/08/2018 06:46

Wow Reservoir fantastic results. DD's won't look like that Grin
Bored of waiting now. DD is playing with her hamsters.

cubscout · 23/08/2018 06:47

Many Congrats Resevoir fantastic results. What a start to the day!

Ds asleep, I'm shaking with too much caffeine already!

Oratory1 · 23/08/2018 06:49

V happy that ds came back from work asking to be woken up at 8 having been on what’s app with other boys who suggested all going in together - maybe the new camaraderie over shared hell of gcse s will last and some good will come out of it. Not planning to go out after or meet up before term starts but at least it’s a start 😀

And I won’t have to get the hoover out

Oneteen · 23/08/2018 06:55

Well done to your DS Reservoir - great results. DD still asleep too ...also feeling like I will have a caffeine overdose.

HesMyLobster · 23/08/2018 06:56

Wow Reservoir! What a way to start us off - phenomenal results, you must be incredibly proud. Congratulations! Grin

androbbob · 23/08/2018 06:58

Wow well done reservoir!- I agree worth seeing if scores are worth a remark. Our school are paying for remarks for close scores. Great start to our thread. I am with jufus with mixed bag of results expected.

mmmz · 23/08/2018 07:08

Ha! I had a (polite, but irritating!) disagreement at parents night with DS's geography teacher who had told the class that they needed 97% to get a level 9.

Grade boundaries are out and they need 76%. So, every grade boundary that the geography dept estimated last year was way off kilter.

Am feeling vindicated!

ReservoirDogs · 23/08/2018 07:10

Yes - we have a very happy house. He is currently singing extremely loudly in the shower as he has to catch the bus to Reading Festival at 9!

JufusMum · 23/08/2018 07:15

DD just hugged me. She hasn't hugged me since about year 5! She doesn't do tactile. She must be nervous Confused

Cherryburn · 23/08/2018 07:16

Not surprised mmmz! Do you think they were getting mixed up between the % of DC expected to get a 9 and the % mark required to get it?!

WhatHaveIFound · 23/08/2018 07:17

Dd woke me at 6am with her results. Mostly as expected and a surprise C in FM. Unfortunately she got shock 4 in one of her A Level choices so heading into school today.

beenrumbled · 23/08/2018 07:19

Well done reservoir. DS was up and down til about 3 am, but he isn't nervous at all apparently. He is sound asleep now. DH and I have been up since 5 and both of us had strange dreams. I was strangling his statistics teacher, and DH said he dreamed he had to resit Business Studies! Off to school for 10

TerfTerf2 · 23/08/2018 07:21

reservoir Yay!! Massive congrats to you and DS for being the first results on the thread Grin and such nice results too!

TerfTerf2 · 23/08/2018 07:22

whathave fingers crossed for you, hope the A level choices can be sorted. Congrats on the results Thanks

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/08/2018 07:23

Thanks for the link bionic ( from other teacher focused thread I found whilst looking for you all)
So glad to be back, I need you all this morning!

DS is away on brass band tour to Italy ( why did they go now?! )
So he and we are waiting for an email from school.
9ish?

Hoping he gets what he needs to stay where he is.
That's 7 5's and 3 B's ( ideally in what he wants to do for A level)

Fingers crossed for us all X

androbbob · 23/08/2018 07:23

whathaveifound hope you find an answer with the odd level - assume it was a subject with multiple papers so individual raw scores may give a clue. Good to hear of results from our DC.

mmmz · 23/08/2018 07:24

Edexcel %s grade boundaries (blanks are AQA waiting to be filled)
