Morning androbob. I’m wide awake too. DS aiming to be at school for 9am, when it opens. It’s still dark!

Edexcel boundaries are out. But aqa at 8 am grrrr!

Morning all - I'm also awake but only because some stupid police helicopter was hovering around - assume some form of road chase on main road...second time in a week !

DD also going in at 9am and then spending day with friend ...I am thinking (if I can persuade DF that we will sit in the Costa about 5 minutes walk away)...saves just sitting in a car and takes some stress away from DD (she was still fine last night but said she was nervous).

Wide awake here too. Dd now asleep thankfully. Just seen the Edexcel maths grade boundaries not sure I understand properly ..at least I hope I don’t. Dd has explained what she normally got so was hoping the figures correlated..but they don’t by over 100! Panicking now.

Morning all. Wide awake here. DD had no trouble sleeping but we did stay awake until midnight arranging her new make up box for dance.
Had a dream that DD's form tutor gave me her grades and they were presented in the form of a Betterware catalogue

Massive good luck to all DC today and thanks for keeping me sane whilst DD was at School From Hell.

Off to look at grade boundaries now.

Think for English and maths those wanting to get 9s are going to be disappointed. Looking at edexcel the difference between a 7 and 9 is big. If aqa similar to edexcel dgd may not get an 8 in maths which will disappoint her. English language a worry as she needs 5/6 but those boundaries look similar to last year.

A big thank you from me for all the hand holding too...it seems like the gCSE journey was a very long one and sharing thoughts etc has definitely made it easier.

I've been lurking here - up early can't sleep - ds gone to work for 6am and will be back in time to collect results

I have stomach pains with anxiety - please bring my happy boy back hate to see him so stressed 😩

Ooh it's a Bit real now! DD did Edexcel maths so taking her mocks mark I predict a 5 which will do nicely! Don't think any other subjects were Edexcel though.

Good luck to those getting emails at 6.00.

10.00 here. After refusing to talk about it for most of the evening we had a good chat late last night. Dd admitted she was struggling because expectations were too high.

She said her friends expected her to get really high grades (she's generally in higher sets) and she thought I did too.

Not that anyone was pressuring her but more that the only way was down and we wouldn't even be surprised or celebrate anything good.

So we talked about what the lowest likely grades were for her based on her worst mocks (4s to 6s).

This would still be enough to get her into 6th form. I don't know if it helped her but it made me feel better.

Also she made some very nice flapjack

By the way. Do we think this thread will last until lunchtime?

Turns out having friends over for gin and board games, and getting very tiddly, is a sure fire way of getting 6 hours' sleep. Hope I don't have a hangover when I get up! Very out of character!

AQA are so annoying... why are they making us wait until 8am?we'll be picking up the results at that time!
