I am sitting here watching DS’s flight on RadarBox. He is over Yakutsk, which sounds familiar from Risk??

Cherryburn · 22/08/2018 22:01

Good luck all!

beenrumbled · 22/08/2018 22:05

Sleep well everyone!

eaglefly · 22/08/2018 22:12

N.b. not available until tomorrow

sandybayley · 22/08/2018 22:27

@KingscoteStaff - yes I think Yakutsk is one of the Asia territories on the right that you can sneak into via Alaska. DH made me play Risk when I was in early labour with DS1 as the NCT teacher had said board games were good for passing the time. He was cross when I won. DS1 loves Risk, maybe no coincidence Wink

Can't believe that was over 16 years ago.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 22/08/2018 22:28

Yakutsk, Irkutsk, Kamchatka... takes me back. Loved Risk. Smile

sandybayley · 22/08/2018 22:33

I'd love a game of Risk now!

Only 9. 25 hours left! 😁

Heathersnotsosmall · 22/08/2018 22:54

Delurking, having followed this thread for many months. Good luck to all tomorrow 🍀

elephantoverthehill · 22/08/2018 23:00

Right time to put things into perspective.

  1. Ds's results and which course to take next? sixth form no longer available at his school so we will get his results, probably have coffee and mull it all over.
  2. Results of the students I have taught this year
  3. Appointment with a solicitor about regaining some property which is rightfully mine. These are all happening tomorrow. Number one I have definitely got correct, two and three?
Cblue · 22/08/2018 23:05

DD now says wake her at 9 (for school at 10) despite email results at 7.30....

Yeah right....she will be up at 7 even if I have to drag her out of bed 🤗

Now drinking wine so I have a fighting chance of sleeping- sadly forgot to buy a coffee cup to drink it from but I will def buy one before A Levels

Good luck to you all - if the commitment of parents and grandparents are anything to measure it by, they will smash it!!!!

Fingers crossed that everyone gets what they need for the next stage since anything else is simply a bonus

Thanks for all your advice and support

See you all on the other side.
Xxxxxx

So now I am cooking Ds poached eggs because his 'come home and go straight to bed' strategy is not working out. I hope I've got some hot chocolate.

mummymeister · 22/08/2018 23:22

DC went to bed ages ago. I cannot sleep - guzzling the Gaviscon due to nervous indigestion. needs grades to get back into 6th form . I thought they had all gone pretty well but after a chat today - apparently not! Didn't want to mention it before but now worried it has all gone feet up. well it is what it is I guess. 8am tomorrow.

elephantoverthehill · 22/08/2018 23:28

Now it's a bowl of cereal. I really think I can't go to bed before Ds tonight!

AlexanderHamilton · 22/08/2018 23:37

Ive never seen Dd this nervous before. The hour long drive tomorrow is going to be awful.

TerfTerf2 · 22/08/2018 23:54

Evening all! Just back from cinema watching Christopher Robin with a couple of girlfriends. It's delightful! And a bit sad too. And Pooh is full of wise words as usual.
"Doing Nothing is good. From Nothing can come a whole lot of Something" (I paraphrased)

DS is asleep but now wants me to drive him in at 10am when school opens. I shall sit in the carpark with all the other parents Grin then come home and drink gin

All the best to you all and our lovely children

DevaDiva · 23/08/2018 00:05

Waiting for darling daughter to get back from a party with 2 of her friends who are staying overnight. Excited and nervous about tomorrow!

HesMyLobster · 23/08/2018 00:28

Finally home with a glass of wine!
I got stuck on the M1 for a nearly 3 hours doing what should have been a 50 minutes round trip to collect dh from the train station HmmAngry

At least we're home safe (nasty accident I think) and I'll hope fully manage to sleep as I'm shattered now!

DD has had a super evening with her friends thank goodness, and was all tucked up in bed after a relaxing bath by the time I got home. I'm so glad she didn't come with me!

She wants a lift to the gym at 6:30am, then to meet friends for breakfast before walking to school when it opens at 9am.

I think we'll be ready for a nap by the time she actually gets her results! Grin

Hope everyone manages to sleep. I have my "coffeee cup" ready for the morning! Wink
Goodnight all xx

Twistofanxiety · 23/08/2018 00:40

Hope you don't mind me coming late to this thread. I didn't realise how nerve wracking this would be. I'm most worried about English. Results at 10am tomorrow and has to get to college at 10:30 to enrol.

Cblue · 23/08/2018 00:44

So......now 00.43
3 glasses of wine down. Watching Mean Girls for the hundredth time - kind of the end of childhood. Should keep us occupied for the next hour......

Another glass of wine and I may well sleep. DD still being cool but I don't expect she will go to sleep for the next few hours, but there's nothing unusual about that!!!

Hasta mañana todos xxxxxx

Theimpossiblegirl · 23/08/2018 01:15

Neither myself nor DD can sleep.
Good luck for tomorrow all.

androbbob · 23/08/2018 04:10

04:05 and wide awake - everyone else is snprong it would seem. School at none with her mate. Have chatted through her expectations versus what would disappoint her. Fingers crossed. R minus 5 hours. ......
