Oneteen don't get me wrong I can see it's useful info and I'm super keen for any leaks at all. Just that I was reaching for Peroni #2 by D&T :)

rogueelement · 21/08/2018 21:40

mmzz Hope things get clearer soon - it's especially horrible when you are miles away.

Not saying I'm nervous but I'm busy making Plans B, C and D. Hoping the original college will take DD but at the moment it's all theory. She had a very rubbish week but seems to be slowly pulling out of it.

beenrumbled · 21/08/2018 21:41

Lovely post sost

Cheers!

Fab post sost Flowers

Maybe we can get the baking DD on the case?

I'm afraid the baking dd's mum is teetotal so not prepared to buy a full bottle of gin just to use 2 tbsp.

No baking today. She's spent the day with her new girlfriend. It's very sweet.

She has promised to make flapjack and lemon drizzle tomorrow for our weekend camping trip.

She's also announced today that she's been invited to a friend's house to celebrate results on Thursday. Very brave of her to commit to host before knowing her results Shock

Sostenueto · 21/08/2018 21:49

rogue I'm already up to plan S. S.. It!Grin

Oratory1 · 21/08/2018 21:49

Good luck rogue

Sostenueto · 21/08/2018 21:51

Nite all be back tomorrow. Xx

Cherryburn · 21/08/2018 21:54

Lovely post sost. It’s good to have you back.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 21/08/2018 21:58

I confess I am now feeling really nervous. My daughter is currently on a train crossing Kenya and will be home sometime on Thursday so I have permission to collect her envelope and open it. I will definitely collect her results but I may not open it. As someone said upthread they are her results, not mine.

She has took English Language, Maths and Science last year so only "needs" two C's for 6th form but she needs top grades in her A level choices.

goodbyestranger · 21/08/2018 22:01

Same here KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse. DD has just said the plan is for a beach bbq a few miles down the coast if the weather holds fair ie can she have a lift. I guess going out is the best thing to do either way.

Stickerrocks · 21/08/2018 22:13

Oh Sost....xxx

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 21/08/2018 22:14

DS3's mates don't do parties. They have arranged to go bowling on Friday, cos they're all out with their parents on Thursday. Bless.

eaglefly · 21/08/2018 22:22

Sandy yes the Latin. That is the exam that has the highest grade boundaries even at the letter grades. I imagine as you say they will be really high.

eaglefly · 21/08/2018 22:24

Great post sost. You summed it up beautifully.

JugglingMummyof2 · 21/08/2018 22:28

mmzz I hope the news is good for you, illness puts everything else into perspective.
Not long now until the long wait is over. The support on here has been truly lovely and I wish all of your DCs every success and happiness for now and the next stage of their life.
Feeling emotional tonight...

LooseAtTheSeams · 21/08/2018 22:33

Sostenueto lovely post Thanks your dgd is very lucky to have you - as are all dcs with parents on this thread!

Cblue · 21/08/2018 22:36

Yep- here's to all the fab parents/grandparents on this ultra supportive thread.
🧀🍓🍕🍟🥟☕️🍷🍺🥂🍾🍪🍫🍰🍨 ......and whatever else we may need to get through the next 32 hours!!!

2 more sleeps 😬

Theworldisfullofgs · 21/08/2018 22:39

2 more sleeps. I've been banned from saying anything and am only allowed to make vaguely supportive noises when dd mentions it.

DevaDiva · 21/08/2018 22:40

DD is excited about results at the moment. She is still undecided about staying on at 6th Form or going to Sixth Form College.

We're letting her decide herself; the college is excellent and outperforms many grammer schools and private schools BUT involves a 75min bus journey each way. School is improving and the teachers in her potential subjects seem very good.

A big decision to be made on Thursday, she says she will decide once she gets her result. She's likely to get very similar results in her chosen A-levels so I'm not sure how that's going to work HmmSmile

eaglefly · 21/08/2018 22:43

2 more sleeps. This feels like Christmas countdown.

I wish you and your DC and DGC all the best for this next milestone in their and your lives. Hope they all get what they are hoping for and even if they don't hope they are proud of all that they have achieved given all their circumstances. This is a lovely thread with a lovely set of parents and grandparents. Our DC are lucky to have such supportive and loving parents and we equally are lucky to have such lovely DC with so much potential and their lives waiting ahead of them. Much hugs and luck for all of you.

LooseAtTheSeams · 21/08/2018 22:44

Deva good luck - DS is definitely in the waiting to see what he gets category as well!

PandaG · 21/08/2018 22:50

Cheers Sost. Lovely post. GinCakeBrew

Oneteen · 21/08/2018 23:05

Lovely post Sostenueto...I think we are all routing for your DD to get that 9 in Geography and I am sure there will be a nice surprise with the English grade too.

Whilst I am looking forward to DD getting her results on Thursday, I am also looking forward to getting back to normal - DD broke up for exam leave on the 7th May and my work ethos has definitely deteriorated...I am supposed to be in London tomorrow but I think I will give that a miss!

It would be lovely to see lots of the DC's achieving those grade 9's but equally I know a lot of DC's have really done exceptionally well just to sit all the exams ...so like Sost said well done to all the DC's and I hope everyone gets to their desired college/school etc.

mmmz - hope you get some positive news about mum - you are missed already!

HesMyLobster · 21/08/2018 23:40

Thinking of you and hoping for good news Mzzz Thanks

Sostenueto beautifully said, I wholeheartedly agree - this has been a truly lovely thread, I have no doubt it will keep going strong through A Levels and beyond.

Hope everyone manages some sleep, see you all on Results Day-Eve! Gin
