Teen ooh, if you're there on July 12 let me know!

Teenmum60 · 13/06/2018 16:30

loose We are there first week on 5th unfortunately if tickets arrive ..

Teenmum60 · 13/06/2018 16:32

mmzz - probably a 2 Grin

calzone · 13/06/2018 16:34

Chemistry was good.

Leavers assembly was good.

He came home and crashed I think......

Tomorrow afternoon is Tech.
Friday is Physics and Citizenship
Monday is German
Tuesday is German
Wednesday is free
Thursday is German

Then IT IS OVER 🎈🎉🎊🎉🎈🎉🎊🎉🎈🎊

Teenmum60 · 13/06/2018 16:34

mmzz but seriously think that is still probably a 9 given that 15% of DC's will get a 9.

BlueBelle123 · 13/06/2018 16:43

DS's feedback from Edexcel chemistry, there were some pretty tricky questions in it but he enjoyed the exam - A level choice. One more to go I can't believe it.........

BlueBelle123 · 13/06/2018 16:44

Teen your already applying grade inflation it was 12% Grin

mmzz · 13/06/2018 16:49

I wish it were a 9. But you have to think of the grade ranges for the single sciences in the context of the combined science.

Teenmum60 · 13/06/2018 16:49

Its my eyesight bluebell..I'll be turning grade 6's into 9's on results day Grin or maybe the opposite way round -i dont think so-

Teenmum60 · 13/06/2018 16:50

First time I tried a strikethrough and it didnt work Hmm

EllenJanethickerknickers · 13/06/2018 16:57

Right, I've booked Pizza Express (nectar vouchers) for tea. DS3 and 2 are going to their dad's tomorrow until Sunday evening so it's my chance to have an end of exams celebration, even though last exam is on Friday. At least DS3 has only has physics left to revise and has all day tomorrow to do it in. One evening off won't hurt.

80% sounds good but no idea where the grade boundary might be. We'll find out in August. DS3 was quite happy, knows he made at least one mistake but for a 1 mark question.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 13/06/2018 17:00

Double dashes, Teenmum

BlueBelle123 · 13/06/2018 17:01

I'll put my head on the line and say there is no way on earth that 80% will be lower that an 8 for the sciences..........

DaffoDeffo · 13/06/2018 17:03

I'm impressed you all get such detailed feedback. I'm lucky if I get a grunt or an ok!

farangatang · 13/06/2018 17:04

Loose does your DS play with a MMF ensemble? MMF one of the best borough music services there is!

Kitties let's hope Anna actually knew the answer Smile

Alexander funny how they like/dislike the same aspects of the course (although analysing set works wasn't high on my DD's favourite activities, either) Perhaps they'll meet at a Mountview/GSA/other ridiculously competitive MT course provider audition one day? DD quite fancies herself a West End star (but can't really dance apart from tap and lessons for that are few and far between in SE Asia!)

Teenmum very proud indeed! But glad she's found something she loves and gives her so much pleasure, too. I agree with Daffo that the drama/music are things she can enjoy for the rest of her life, and as with anything you enjoy, it's not how many awards you get, but that intrinsic satisfaction, fulfillment and joy that taking part in the activity brings.

Another late night for me - surviving on around 5 hours at the moment - so much to do to leave a country. At least DD will have lots of time once tomorrow's Spanish is over. Glad the weather forecast is warm for the UK - might not need to wear my cardies after all!

farangatang · 13/06/2018 17:09

mmzz I am now frightened about DD's science grades! She dropped to Coordinated Science after doing Triple in Y10 - having only started at her school then, she'd missed the first year of GCSE course teaching and couldn't quite catch up. Also, with 3 exams rather than 9, it was a simple choice for her.

But a tiny fraction of 9s compared to 12% for single sciences! Eek! Chances of even getting a 7 seem slim...

noblegiraffe · 13/06/2018 17:14

I think loads of kids have dropped from triple to double who would previously have done triple because of how much extra content there has been, and how much more difficult the new GCSE is. This means that when setting grade boundaries the ‘double’ cohort would be brighter than last year’s double cohort and so they would allocate more higher grades.

LooseAtTheSeams · 13/06/2018 17:21

farangatang yes he does! He loves it - he's in two of their ensembles, but only one of the ones playing at Wimbledon. I better stop there or it'll be very outing!
mmzz well, I think it's a 9 for your DS!

goodbyestranger · 13/06/2018 17:24

AQA Chemistry fine, once DD actually got there after a good old fashioned wake up sprint.

It's bold of you (Sost I think - could be wrong) to guess grades based on demeanour etc. I'll only go so far as to predict that teacher predictions here won't be met :) There are already obvious dips in certain subjects and I think a slight wanting to get the whole thing finished general malaise. Ad Maths is a pain on Tuesday but I feel much much sorrier for the German and D&T DC - those are the DC who really have it dragged out.

goodbyestranger · 13/06/2018 17:28

Main concern is still no prom dress.... Let's hope there are things which aren't too hideous left in the shops after Friday [fingers crossed emoticon].

TerfTerfTerf · 13/06/2018 17:42

goodbye TL Maxx is a good place to start for dresses if you have one near you. Also Monsoon. And the 'Sense' charity shops sell brand new last-season dresses from the Pretty Dress Company for £25ish

AlexanderHamilton · 13/06/2018 17:50

Quiz also do a good online service. You can try styles on in the shop then there are some online exclusives in different colours/material etc.

mmzz · 13/06/2018 17:56

Any suggestions about where to get a prom suit for a 6ft tall, very slim boy?

ReservoirDogs · 13/06/2018 17:58

MMZZ Debenhams had a good range of slim fit ones which fitted my 6ft1 teenboything!

cubscout · 13/06/2018 18:01

M&S without a doubt mmzz ! I scoured the high street and ds could not find anything he liked. Large M&S stores have a great range of slim cuts and different trouser lengths. Washable also (so our prom suit will also do for 6th form Grin
