It is torture!

At least dd is asleep and has been very philosophical about results day.

EmilyDickinson · 17/08/2017 05:59

A level results email due in 2 minutes, but not allowed to read it till DD has...

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 06:01

Is she awake EmilyD? Good Luck!

user9512736123 · 17/08/2017 06:04

Got to sleep about 3, woken at 5 because a certain teen has opened their window and door which is now banging in the breeze.....Angry they, of course, are sleeping through it.

bebumba · 17/08/2017 06:04

Good morning everybody!
I hope you all receive good new today. The long wait is nearly over and yes, it is torture!

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 06:05

This last bit is awful.

bebumba · 17/08/2017 06:10

As usual ds is sound asleep nothing keeps him awake or wakes him once he has gone off to sleep. He has always been a deep sleeper.
No doubt I will have to wake him this morning if he hasn't set his alarm.
I am not usually a worrier but do feel anxious I wish the waiting was over!

dingit · 17/08/2017 06:14

Ooh Emily! You will be the first!

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 06:14

I am suddenly really really envious of people whose DC have Unconditional offers...

EmilyDickinson · 17/08/2017 06:15

Phew, after four looong minutes I was allowed to open my email. Firm choice offer met. Yay!

bebumba · 17/08/2017 06:17

Oh well done Emily's dd!

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 06:19

Well Done Emily!

MumBod · 17/08/2017 06:25

Late crasher to the thread - DS got three As, but is gutted because his offer was A*AA.

Will he still get in do you think?

What world are we living in when 3As is disappointing? Sad

I'm so bloody proud of him but he's morose.

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 06:25

Congratulations, Emily. I hope we have some more of the same on here this morning.

dingit · 17/08/2017 06:25

Great news

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 06:27

MumBod, sorry I don't know - you will probably have to wait for an email or Track to open. But three As is amazing. Has he checked emails?

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 06:30

Sorry he's not happy MumBod Sad - fab grades though, Well Done to him.

AmITwirly · 17/08/2017 06:39

I've been awake since 5:30 but leaving DS to sleep because his school doesn't open for results until 9am. I'm definitely more worried about DS's results than I was for my own! That's mad isn't it Shock

Fingers crossed for everyone.

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 06:44

How is it that some students get their results three hours before others? It's not exactly a level playing field if they need to start phoning round. It wasn't one of the criteria we asked about when looking at sixth forms - 'how quickly do you release A level results on the day??'!

MumBod · 17/08/2017 06:45

Thanks all - checking as we speak. He did have extenuating circumstances while he was sitting, and they said this would be taken into account, so fingers crossed.

Good luck everyone.

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 06:45

That's a good point Liney. Some schools/colleges email the grades out to students, others request the students collect in person.

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 06:49

DS has to physically collect his, and we've had the usual rail SNAFU lately. So that'll add to the drama.

dingit · 17/08/2017 06:49

She's done it! Email from firm. And on the masters ( higher grades needed)

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 06:51

Ooh nice one, dingit. Hope her boyfriend is ok too.

AmITwirly · 17/08/2017 06:52

Congratulations dingit's DD and the others whose results are in. They all sound good to me!
