Well done everyone. It is such a relief isn't it?

raspberryrippleicecream · 25/08/2016 10:49

DD has 7 A* and 4 A. Very, very happy and relieved!

Well done everybody

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/08/2016 10:50

Grin she did brilliantly. She's very happy!

Still feel sick though.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/08/2016 10:51

Really really well done everyone!!!

ExitPursuedByABear · 25/08/2016 10:57

Come on tell us .....

Iwantacampervan · 25/08/2016 11:05

An A*, 3 x A, 7 x B and a C. All she needs for college and she's relieved that she can now do subjects she's interested in.
Her friends seemed to do so much better than her but she wasn't too worried. I was pleased with what she got - I don't think I would have lasted under the pressure of the exam weeks.

2gorgeousboys · 25/08/2016 11:12

I know what you mean Iwant, one of DS's best friends got all A*s and another got all As but we are really pleased with DS's results.

Jetcatisback · 25/08/2016 11:12

Congrats to all, and Flowers to those slightly disappointed.
DD got a B in Maths which shes over the moon with, but a D in English which shes gutted about. She was predicted B/C but her result in Paper 2 really dragged her down. Shes asking if she can just resit that paper and not the full course again, but i honestly dont know. Still, im proud of her after a tough few year Smile

MsMermaid · 25/08/2016 11:14

Dd did very well, 7A and 4 A. She's a bit disappointed with an A in further maths when she was predicted an A^ , but she realises herself that she's being ridiculous.

My classes at school have a mixed bag of results. Some have outperformed their targets and are thrilled, others have underperformed and are devastated. I'm a bit disappointed with some of the results from my top set, but looking at the actual marks it's the high grade boundaries this year that have dropped a few of them down a grade.

ExitPursuedByABear · 25/08/2016 11:15

Several of DD's friends got all A*s with a couple of As. But who cares. I'm so proud of her.

MsMermaid · 25/08/2016 11:16

I forgot to say well done to everybody else Blush. There are some brilliant results.

Flowers to those who are disappointed.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/08/2016 11:18

Oh OK, 9a*s including with distinction for further maths and 2 as. Very very pleased!
One A was a bit of a surprise but dd isn't kicking herself over it.

All that worry and it's done. Thank goodness!

truemovies · 25/08/2016 11:21

OYBBK that is bloody brilliant!

chocolateworshipper · 25/08/2016 11:38

So happy for you kitten

DD did better than she thought and is extremely happy. What a flipping relief.

MsMermaid · 25/08/2016 11:44

That's brilliant Kitten. Well done to your dd. Grin

FantasyAndHope · 25/08/2016 11:45

We staying together for alevels I bloody need it
Cheers

MsMermaid · 25/08/2016 11:45

Chocolate, glad your dd did better than she thought, it's always a relief when they are happy, isn't it?

hotdiggedy · 25/08/2016 11:46

Well we didn't get any A* or A grades but I was extremely happy to see a B grade and a load of C grades. Never expected that in a million years considering we were looking at some D to G grades this time last year. I am very very happy! Thought I would post as most people here seem to only be talking about very very high grades. Surely there must be others with less than just A and B grades?

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 25/08/2016 11:49

DS didn't get a C in English. He got a D. However, his school are letting him do 6th form and resit next year. So that's a relief. He got As in maths, further maths and computer science, Bs in geography, chemistry and biology, a C in physics and a (most unmumsnetty) G in Engineering. He said he was impressed it wasn't a U.

So all is ok here.

catslife · 25/08/2016 11:54

Yes there are other dcs with more modest grades hotdiggedly. Reporting back with 4Bs and 4 Cs (in line with expectations/predicitons) so no resits needed and grades needed in right subjects for sixth form college to do A levels in her preferred subjects.
One of the Bs was for RS where she had an E in her mocks which was a surprise.

MadisonAvenue · 25/08/2016 12:00

hotdiggetty a B, Cs and Ds for my son. Really pleased for him. He's over at college now confirming his place. I'm just glad that we can now cut ties with the school. Unfortunately we're in an area where it's not a matter of choosing the best school but choosing one that's not quite as bad as the others and isn't in special measures.

MadisonAvenue · 25/08/2016 12:01

Or hotdiggedy even

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 25/08/2016 12:02

Well done to your DD catslife. Improving a predicted E to a B is very impressive.

DS was predicted DS in both computer science and engineering at Christmas. He told me he put all his effort into his computer science coursework (which resulted in an A) at the expense of the engineering coursework (hence the G). He's taking computer science at alevel so I guess that was a sensible choice. In general he's not great at coursework.
